just finished reading this book. I have been in tears most nights reading it, up till the small hours of the morning gripped by this book, and am now mentally exhausted from reading it! A fantastic book, but really dark.

Anyone suggest a nice easy read for my next book??
Back tomorrow with five fav friday!

Happy, happy, happy....

blogged by me domestic goddess On 1/14/2009 09:39:00 PM 5 lovely comments
It really does not take much to put a smile on my face, and today 3 happy things have happened, actually 4, if you count the beautiful bunch of Lilly's Peter came home with yesterday * inserts huge grin*.

Firstly, my copy of Scrapbook Memories from Australia arrived, with a layout of Lilly on her 3rd birthday, published. I know I have mentioned this before, but I really love this magazine and am always thrilled when I have a layout published in this magazine.

Second happy news is my digi layout of Lilly, titled "love" made it to the catwalk over at SIStv this week. I am so happy, mainly because I am such a virgin digi scrapper ( and Kate "digi queen" Hadfield, also made the catwalk), and it is a layout using one of my own templates, how happy am I!!!.

And lastly, but no means least, "A Snapshot of my Life" is now very much live, with today's post about "getting organized", for the off on Monday!

If you fancy doing some sort of 365 challenge, but cannot commit to a full 365 days, then this project will probably suit you to the ground. Check out the website for more details.

Did you have a happy day today? Share some happiness and post your happy stories for us all.

Snapshots.....

blogged by me domestic goddess On 1/11/2009 10:10:00 PM 6 lovely comments
Its been a busy few days in both worlds, home and business. I have become quite addicted to making digital templates, yikes! never thought I would even consider digital, but I have been enjoying it. But, paper is still my first true love, and on Friday I scrapped for me, no deadline, no kit, no pressure.
The photo was from Christmas 2007. I seem to be doing quite a few Christmas layouts. All the paper lines this year were just so gorgeous, I couldn't resist it! I used more Sassafrass Life at the Pole, and Basic Grey.

Pencil Lines went live this evening with a Bad Girl, and a great sketch by Michelle.

I used papers form Jeni Bowlin December kit and CBX glittery paper, ( for the life of me cannot remember its proper name!), Prima flower, some BG chipboard and lots of bits form my stash. And yes I have scrapped similar photos of Lilly before, but she looks so cute.

How awful is this... I havnt picked up my camera since Monday , when I took these photos of the girls in the first of the snow we had on Monday. It has been nice not having the 365 pressure though!.
Which leads me on to my new challenge for 2009, "Snapshots of my Life". The new blog has launched, and officially starts on Monday 19th, would love you all to join me.

Tuesdays from now on, will be Template Tuesday, where I will be offering a new digital layered template for you to download free.
Hope you all had a good weekend, we chilled all weekend!
Hugs and thanks as always for stopping by

the dark side....

blogged by me domestic goddess On 1/09/2009 12:21:00 PM 14 lovely comments
Mmmmm, I have been dabbling these last few days, must be the New Year vibes, and Michelle Filo and her fab templates over at Little Dreamer Designs.

Now don't go getting all excited now please, I am by no means a digital scrapping, infact I tried doing a more cluttered layout, and I really did not like it. I do like to rifle through my boxes for my embellishments and move around the page and touch and feel, nothing is going to change that at all! I did enjoy taking a more simple approach, and using templates from Oscraps and Little Dreamer Designs, these helped me delve over to the dark side! It really is just paper, photo, and journaling.

Here are my first effects:

All the supplies I used were FREE downloads! Although I will admit to purchasing a couple of gorgeous kits from Oscraps!

Now being a sketch artist and my love for Pencil Lines, I decided to have a play and make my first digital template for you to play with. Please let me know if you used it and link me to your layouts. I would love to see what you proper digi scrappers can do, and not my feeble attempt that you see here.

I am cropping tonight in the village. It will be good to see everyone again after the holidays.

Before I go, here are my Fav Five Friday!, doing it digi style

1. Oscraps - love their simple templates
2. Little Dreamer Designs - pretty kits and templates by Michelle Filo
3. Kate Hadfield - the UK's digi queen. This girl inspires me to scrap, her layouts amaze me, and they are digi!!
4. Rhonna Farrer - loving her swirls over at 2 peas
5. Paislee Press - a great tutorial on using templates

Have a great weekend, and thanks as always for stopping by

Pencil Lines and Bad Girls

blogged by me domestic goddess On 1/05/2009 09:21:00 AM 10 lovely comments
A New Year brings a new sketch from Pencil Lines and a new kit by Bad Girls, "Ma Petite Maison".

This weeks guest over at Pencil Lines is Stephanie Garbett, whom I "met" at Scrapbook.com. One very talented UK scrapper who won Scrapbooker of the Year 2008!!!

I scrapped some Christmas photos of the girls, and used the very cute Sassfras Lass "Life at the Pole", ( not the North Pole as I have plastered over most galleries this morning!!), and Elles Studio Christmas cards and journaling spots. Elles Studio have sponsored Pencil Lines this month, if you want to be in for a chance to win a bumper pack of goodies, then you must submit your layouts to the readers gallery.

When my Bad Girls kits arrived last year (yikes, doesnt that sound scary?), my favourite kit by far was this months, "Ma Petite Maison".Even the name conjures up utter delight for me. Full of Jeni Bowlin, Making Memoires and Webster Pages, in subtle shades of green, cream and brown, and Grunge Board. Yep you heard me right, I said Grunge Board. Delicate blooms, buttons and ribbon, are just a few of the embellishments you will find in this months kit. Reveal is 10pm tonight, which is about 6pm UK time. I suggest you set you alarm bright and early, to grab yourself a kit.

The girls go back to school tomorrow. We are all wrapped up warm at home, as it is freezing outside and snowing! Izzy has a friend round and Lilly is curled up on the sofa, choosing not to go to a party this morning. I have no idea what is wrong with her, she doesn't do parties!

I am off to do a bit of a fly lady in the utility room.

Thanks as always for stopping by

Party Post

blogged by me domestic goddess On 1/04/2009 12:18:00 AM 5 lovely comments

Our New Years Eve Party was an absolute blast, if I am allowed to say that! Everyone made such an effort with their costumes. Its a real toughy when doing a fancy dress party. Most people groan " Oh I hate Fancy Dress" " Who can I come us", blah blah blah, but everyone who came to our party made 110% effort, and I couldn't stop laughing. No-one was spoken to by name, but by character, I tell you, I cannot wait to do it all over again! I want to go as Elastica Girl, so some gym work is definitely in order, LOL.

My surprise........... was my best friend from up North and her hubby, who surprised at 4pm NYE! and Sue knew, and hadn't said a word! The door bell went, i answered and was greeted to a balloon with the words "GUESS WHO?" written across it, i thought it was some early guests! and then two heads popped around the corner and I burst into tears!

Now for the photos, some I pinched from Sue and Karens facebook, hehehehe

I went as Cleopatra, although many believe I am sporting a rather good resemblance to a "fat" Kat Slater!!!! Oh well you win some, you loose some!

What do 2 kids do the next morning whilst Dad is in bed?!

back tomorrow with Bad Girls sneaks and Pencil Lines.
