Christmas Crafting/five fav friday

blogged by me domestic goddess On 12/04/2009 06:30:00 PM 2 lovely comments
This weekend, we are doing all things Christmas! Tomorrow we are taking Nana out for lunch, followed by an afternoon Christmas decoration shopping! I love looking for new decs for the home. Have picked up some real bargains so far. Popped into B&Q this afternoon and picked up some gorgeous white felt shapes; hearts, dove, tree and snowflake for only 24p in teh sale! I picked everyone up to add to Christmas cards, which I still have to make, yikes!
Earlier in the week I picked up some chipboard angels and reindeer's from Tesco's, for cards and table decorations; a pack of 10 for £1.00, bargain!!
Sunday we are decorating the house and the tree, love this part! But before we start, I am making a whistle stop drop of to Crafty Stash Christmas workshop to say Hi to Tracie who is teaching, and I am sure there will be a few more familiar faces to say Hi to also!

Been doing a bit of blog browsing today and am loving

* these Hello Kitty Christmas tags
* this Christmas house, which the girls will love making and colouring in! (scroll down)
* Rhonda's cute button tree pillow
* Tarisota's recipe downloads
* Papertry Ink blog for Christmas cards and tags

Do you have any Christmas Crafting links to share? Just post them in the comments...

Momiji Love

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/24/2009 11:40:00 PM 5 lovely comments
I am a total addict when it comes to most things Japanese, especially when Momiji dolls and such are involved. On a recent viist to the Momiji official site I eye spied a few goodies in the Zakka section.
Zakka means bits and pieces in Japanese and it's our collection of super things to make life lovely.!

I am totally loving the pretty cupcake cases in a tin, with flags!

Look at this travel journal set,it's jam-packed with ideas, handy-hints and useful stuff, as well as plenty of room to sketch, doodle, plan, dream and document your adventures.

Loving this sticker tin with 54 stickers!

And how about these cute teaspoons!

And finally my fav doll at the moment.. is Blanche.

I have been a very busy scrapper finalising my class for tomorrow and baking lots! I baked 2 batches of chocolate chip cookies and 2 batches of brownies! 1 of each will be making it to the crop tomorrow.... I also made "homegrown" (that's what Lilly calls homemade!!) meatballs, tomato sauce and spaghetti, whilst Peter supplied the wine and cheesecake from M&S. Posh pud was in aid of my bestest friend Karen, who is visiting from Newcastle this week, Sadly she is leaving Tuesday, I had it in my head it was Wednesday, boohoo..
Will be back tomorrow with something to share, I know I have been promising this all week, but I really will, LOL

World Book Week

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/09/2009 10:23:00 PM 4 lovely comments
Did you celebrate World Book Week?

I was sad to see that the girls school didn't, and this really disappoints me. Thankfully the school I work at did, and I was asked to bring in a favourite book into to class to read. Well this actually proved a very difficult task! I ended up with a pile of books, ranging from my favourite books my dad bought me as a child, one of my favourite children's book, and a couple that the girls chose for me to take in..

So I have decided to do a book themed five fav Friday, I would love to see you join in and post your favourite (children's) book. In no particular order!!
The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams- still has me bawling my eyes out!

The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde - another, "tears rolling down the cheek" job!

Anything by Roald Dahl - how can you not love this talented author!

The Rabbit Problem by Emily Gravett -although I have not read this book, I have looked through it at school and just fell in love with her style. Meerkat Mail is a great story as well by Emily.

Winnie the Pooh - AA Milne - I still watch and read anything Pooh related!

I keep forgetting to share some news with you all.... I have been asked to be Scrapbooking Memories sketch designer for 2010!!! I am so excited and happy. Scrapbooking Memories is my all time favourite scrapbook magazine, and I have been honoured to have been published several times in this magazine. If you have never got your hands on the Australian magazine, I highly recommend it!

Before I go, you still have till Saturday to grab a Pencil Lines blinkie and post a link on the blog and be in for a chance to win some May Arts ribbons!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

This week has not been the best on record. Had some news that completely knocked me for 6, and has taken me a few days to pick up the pieces, and with only days to go before my dads anniversary, blogging has been the furthest thing from my mind. BUT, driving home from workthis afternoon, I decided I needed to pull myself together and think of the stuff that has made me smile this week, so here is my five fav friday; stuff that has put a smile on this grumpy face!
My Kenner Road kit I collected from the post office this afternoon

Seeing a layout of mine in Scrapbook Trends

Dymo message left on my keyboard

Marks and Spencer food!

Completing the 5K Adidas race with my dear friend Sue.

What's making you smile today?

Its been a while since I did a Five Fav Friday, and this week I have some great favs to share:

- Graze - a box of healthy snacks delivered to your door for only £2.99. You can choose from a huge selection of fresh fruit, dried fruit and nuts, olives, and so on. I am a sucker for packaging and the box that your healthy snacks come in had me hooked also. I ordered my first box last night and will receive my GRAZE box on Tuesday. You can cancel at any time also, so if the healthy option doesn't suit and you fancy going back to your choccy digestives you have nothing to loose, LOL

Use this code for 1 free box, next box half price: TY5HYY5A ( thanks to Kate)

- Design a Glow - totally loving this beautiful photography website. So inspiring. Fancy these for my business too....

- Pink Ink Studios - another great site if you are setting up a photography business. Lots of tips in the forum and great business sets, logos and blog headers to help start your business.
- Jenni Bowlin Studios - Loving my kit from Jenni Bowlin. Sneaks from this weeks Pencil Lines sketch

- Cotton Bird Designs - These are just so adorable, and my latest find on Etsy. Gotta love Etsy to inspire...
