Proud Mummy moment

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/26/2007 11:33:00 PM 8 lovely comments
(Well she is still my little girl ), So my little girl's passed her 1st level in beginners one swimming!! May not seem much at 6 , but a few months ago i couldn't get Izzy in the water she was shaking with fright, and now she is doing so well. We picked her badge, report and certificate today and she was jumping with joy.

Sue has been over all day helping me pack kits and goodie bags, 10 boxes later, plenty of coffee and diet coke, and to finish it all off galaxy hazelnut chocolate, mmmmmm. I am now printing instructions sheets and packing my FREE class kit. Trish is flying over the pacific or would that be the Atlantic , yikes i have no idea, i was never any good at geography.

A few more class previews for the lucky ladies enjoying the Scrapping Angels experience this weekend. I can assure you there will not be a disappointed delegate in the house. there is 10 boxes of goodies sitting here.

Finally a photo of Izzy's jeans, boots and a haystack, urban style!

I have been too busy to talk about anything of interest unless i can bore you with the Scrapping Angels weekend of pure angelic fun!, thought not. instead I am sharing some photos of Izzy and Lilly in the front field in the village. I so love the carpet of yellow (rapeseed) that surrounds the Cambridgeshire skyline at the moment. Unfortunately it doesn't agree with me nor Lilly so well. But hey it looks good.

Need to play with the top 2 photos as they look dark to me? I am knackered and off to bed.

Enjoy!

The Final Countdown

*cue heavy rock band*

it truly is the final countdown to the retreat, yikes. Been to Annie's today and a wholesaler (thanks Mandy) to purchase buckets and oasis, oh and pink table cloths!!. Now this class is nearly ready to go. A really cute class being taught by Jo Anne Te Raa, i am definatly sitting in on this one so i can have a bucket of purty flowers sitting in my scrap room.

Sue is coming over to pack the goodie bags for the delegates, and open 6 boxes of stash from Trish(safe journey hun, see you soon),a box of Angel Kisses and a new flower premiering at the retreat this weekend, and boxes and boxes of sponsorship in my potting shed, boy we are going to have fun. Need to stock the fridge with plenty of diet coke for Sue and coffee for me, Sue is bring breakfast courtesy of M&S.

I am now going to log of Peters laptop, settle down to watch Smith, but before i go you just have to buy this guys CD, it is awesome!!! Mark Ronson, cannot remember what the title is, but lets juts say after a couple of bars of track 1, Annie had it whisked up to her office and burned off!!!!

Hugs all

Wow, the generosity of the US manufacturers has been fantastic. Today I received an order from Tinkering Inks with 2 paper packs for the Charity Auction being held Saturday night, and a pack of scrumptious papers and embelllies for me to work with for a magazine editorial i am doing. Then My Minds Eye turns up with another box of goodies for the auction. Honestly I cannot thank our friends overseas for all the goodies being sent my way;

Becky Higgins
Clippy Kit
Kate Hadfield
Tinkering Inks
Polar Bear Press
3DJean

to name a few of the wonderful donations I have had to raise money for the MS Society. I really am blown over, but there is still time to keep sending in donations if you want :), and the hard work is yet to come when the auction takes place on Saturday. If you are not coming to the retreat but would still like to make a donation to the MS Society I have a fundraising page here. This page is updated with any fundraising events that i am participating in.
I took this photo today of the girls on a walk around one of the fields by us, yes we all had streaming eyes and itchy noses afterwards! I am no photogrpaher nor a whizz with CS2, but I love this photo for being natural, and typical Lilly dressed inappropiatly for the weather and mummy wanting to capture a magic moment on her camera ;). Izzy on the other hand is all colour coordinated and eager to be photographed, well for about 2 shots!!
Off to see Annie tomorrow for a catch up on her trip to Seattle and stroke all her new stash she has been telling me about
Have a great day

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/22/2007 07:20:00 PM 11 lovely comments
is it the sketch or my layout? I love both, i really am pleased with how my layout turned out.Tried lots of new things for me
scrapping on 6" x 12"
vintage feel to my design
and this scrummy paper by Karen Russell for Creative Imaginations

If you are reading this then it means Pencil Lines sketch is live, and you don't want to miss this weeks GDT! Its a corker!!
Finished my sample for the Polar Bear Press class for next week. Love this little matchbook, and the papers are lovely. I chose to theme mine on Lilly's friendship with her best friend from pre school. Really pleased how this turned out as well.
JO-Anne emailed me some photos of her class today and i have popped them onto the Scrapping Angels blog, pop on over for a glance at several of the classes taking place next weekend.

The charity Auction is going great guns, but we can always do with more lovely donation. If you would like to donate to the charity auction taking place on Saturday in aid of the MS Society please email me.

Hope you all had a lovely Sunday

Child Friendships

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/21/2007 06:30:00 PM 9 lovely comments
Lilly has a best friend at playschool, they have been inseperable the day they met in September. Now she is moving house and school. Lilly has been devastated, it is so sad. We had a little photoshoot for them on Friday as a reminder of their friendship. And it just so happens that the sample i am making for Class 8 for the retreat by Polar Bear Press, is the perfect colours and theme to hold memories of Lilly's first best friend.

Another gorgeous day here, and lots of fun in the sun. I have been locked in my office though doing paperwork, yuck, and printing photos, BUT my printer is not playing and all the colour is wishy washy and I am not a happy bunny.

Pencil Lines sketch tomorrow and it is stunning, absolutely love this sketch.

Have a good Saturday

My very good aussie "cyber" friend Lee Woodside is a DT member of Lime Tart, an Australian scrapbook kit website, and this month she made the most stunning book on her scrapbook friends of which I was asked if she could scrap me! 1. I love scrapbooking - obvious I know!!
2. I cannot get enough galaxy chocolate
3. I have lived all over the world, Hong Kong, Jordan, China to name a few
4. If I wasn't married and had my girls i would definatly be travelling around the world

Emotional Week

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/16/2007 08:41:00 AM 18 lovely comments
I have had a tough week emotionally, I feel if I have gone back in time 7 months and the reality of my Dad's passing away has hit me like a bolt of lightening. My concentration has been dreadful, my mothering skill have been non existent. When times like this hit me, i usually muddle through making so many errors along the way. Friday morning I woke up and decided that I had to have time out, and time out is exactly what I did, and my family came first. The weekend has been spent being a family, altogether. Friday we went to the Eat and Bowl, Saturday we spent the day in the garden, I started a book and read half in a day!, this is an absolute first since i have had the girls, we also played on the Wii and snoozed and just chilled out, finishing the day with Doctor Who. Sunday I packed a picnic and we went to a local park, where I did my run , we had a family picnic, played Frisbee and generally fooled around. This also is a first for me since my back op, and I couldn't believe what i was able to do.

And to top it all off, I have done some scrapping.
Pencil Lines new sketch went live lats night. This weeks guest was Kristina Contes, you must pop on over and take a peek. My layout is Model Moves, photos os Izzy doing what she does so well, posing!
Supplies:
Fancy Pants paper
Junkitz stripe
Felt
Buttons
Queen and Co sequin flowers
brads
ribbon
MM felt alphabet
Heidi Swapp heart
Hambly transparency
A great weekend and one i want to have next weekend and the weekend after and so on.
How was your weekend? I hope it was filled with family fun and sunshine just like mine

Mojo Holder

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/13/2007 09:58:00 PM 9 lovely comments
This week I was asked to come along and take part at the Mojo Holder challenge blog by Kelly. This is a relatively new blog where the DT take a layout they like and "scraplift" it. Great idea when you are stuck for inspiration. Alot of scrappers hate the term "scrap lift" but to be honest we all do it without realising it. we see a layout, design, technique we love and put our own uniqueness on it. Do pop along and see what the Mojo Holder DT did with this weeks layout which was a scrap lift of KazC on UKScrappers.
Thanks ladies for letting me come and play.
Supplies used:

Bazzill scalloped c/s
Junkitz Pop Rock paper
Heidi Swapp Jewels
Buttons
Brads
Chipboard - Cherry Artes and Zsiage
Black and White journalling pens

Now to start creating for this weeks Pencil Lines sketch. Check out the Hambly winner for week 25 as well. Gorgeous layout and worthy of 1st place. But Allison couldn't choose just one so we have a handful of runner ups as well.

We have had a great family day at the bowling alley and yes i was armed with my tripod and camera! We shall see if any are worth uploading later tonight.

Finally a sneak peak of Anita's Hambly class. You are so gonna love this class.

Hope you all had a great Friday

Back to a working week with the added "bonus" of 2 children present!!! I have started packing this months Scrapping Angels kit by Jenn Starr for Zsiage. Lovely mix of purples, orange and greens. talking of Zsiage, my 6 month contract has now ended and I have had a fantastic 6 months designing for Zsiage, meeting the DT at CHA this year and meeting Dina and Janene.
I cannot thank everyone enough for the chance to design for them. I have some papers and chipboard left here from my DT box which I am going to RAK to one lucky poster. I will pick a post number randomly this week. if you fancy yourself a Zsiage RAK then leave me a post.

Pencil Lines sketch went live last night. I dedicated my page to my dear friends The Moons, who popped down this weekend to surprise me and spend Easter Weekend with us. I haven't laughed so much in ages, thanks to Geoff for picking us up a WII, and the fabulous company this weekend. I have so many photos to share of the Easter Egg hunt, scrummy deserts that I made and general family fun. Here are a couple to start with.

My Pencil Lines sketch supplies are ;
Cosmo Cricket papers
Angel Kiss Blooms
MM brad
Polar Bear Press alphabet stickers
Heidi Swapp photo corners
Paper Mania jewels
I have a few DT projects to do this week for various magazines and challenge blogs. The retreat is coming along great guns and keeping me busy at the moment.
Today I received my MS training pack and T Shirt, so feel very official now. I will be updating my fundraising page this week to help raise money for the Hydro Active Race in September.

Hope you all had a great Easter holiday, I defiantly did

Happy Easter

What a lovely surprise i had when i came down stairs Friday night after putting the girls to bed, to find these 2 people sat on my sofa!!!!! Karen and Kevin my very very good friends from Newcastle drove down to spend Easter Weekend with us. the girls are over excited and delighted at this prospect especially as Izzy knew all Friday, how she kept such a big secret i will never know, what a star. Yesterday we went out for a walk and an impromptu photo shoot.

The afternoon we got back home to a phone call form Sue and this arrived 1 hour later, with Peter making a quick dash to Wellyn Garden City!!!! Bless ,he is like a kid in a candy store at the moment.

We all went out for the best Chinese EVER!!, drank too much good wine (not the girls i might add!) continue the party at home, cracked open the Roses and had a session on the WII, and i am now officially a golf , tennis and bowling pro, wohoo!!!!
Karen and I turned our hands at being Easter Bunnies last night, after having a few too many, I decorated my Easter tree and then crawled into bed at gone 1am. i am now up bright and early to continue my cooking spree, do my Pencil Lines layout and prepare dinner for 8 of us. The cheesecake is chillin, the Easter Danish is baked, now to prepare the Lamb and veg.

Have a wonderful Easter Sunday, take time out to remember those no longer with us and enjoy your time with your friends and family this bank holiday
I will be following up this post with Easter photos galore

Girls just wanna have Fun!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/03/2007 06:48:00 PM 5 lovely comments
fun fun fun. The holidays have started in our household, with paper folding one day, scrapbooking , space hopper racing the next, and today we had the Deacons over and the girls have danced, played in the cold garden, had a photo session and had a crafty session.
Don't you just love having your kids around during the holidays. Its one of those things i think i will dread but then always thoroughly enjoy. Nothing could part me from being with my girls day in day out. Tomorrow , weather permitting we are off to Twin Lakes theme park. I don't know who is more excited me or them!
Annie ran me today, yes Annie in Seattle, at 8am her time. It was so good to speak to her. I gather poor Addie is struggling with jet lag, i quite understand, now i have experienced it again i know how she feels, poor wee soul.
I am really really excited about the great new paper manufacturers i have planned for the Scrapping Angel kits. I have ordered loads of goodies today and Annie is sourcing in the States as well.
The retreat is only weeks away and I am looking forward to it so much this time round. Fantastic classes and inspirational teachers, brilliant sponsors and all round fun. The first retreat was very difficult due to dads failing health and his passing away only days before the event. This year I feel that my organisation is much better and i have been able to dedicate my time to this years event. i know dad is watching over me, nagging me all the way!
I leave you with photos of my girls and her girls having fun.....
Hugs all

Interviews, Sketches and Sun...

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/01/2007 11:54:00 PM 5 lovely comments
Oh My.... what a weekend!!!

I have been interviewed for a German magazine called Scrap-Art Zine for Pencil Lines. Thanks to Kimmy for the translation and feel so excited at A) being interviewed and B) that Pencil Lines is getting noticed all over the globe, how exciting is all this.

The weather has been glorious this weekend, the lawn has been mowed 3 times in all and is looking pretty darn fine. The girls have played in the tree house, had friends over, tea parties in the garden and have been to the park. I have done my first complete run, I am so excited for me. I ran a full 25 minutes while the girls were at the park with Peter. I ran a total of 1.5 miles. That bit was a tad disappointing as i had hoped it was nearer 2 miles. Saturday my goal is 2 miles which is from the house to Buckden, up the A1, that bit is the bummer, but hey, hopefully will make me run fast while I get screwed up by lorry drivers!!
I completed my Pencil Line sketch which I love, i really do love this weeks sketch, probably because I selected it from the talented Beck Fleck's collection, still well worth getting your butt over for a look. Also tonight is your last chance to upload your LO's from sketch 25 for a chance to win a Hambly RAK. the readers gallery is looking do good, such a talented bunch of scrappers out there. So glad I am not selecting a winner, but poor Allison does have too.

Sketch Supplies

White c/s
3Bugs in a Rug pp
Stamps by Stamps Away
ribbon - Micheals
Chipboard - Zsiage
Purple Cow freestyle trimmer to cut my circle

Updated Scrapping Angels blog with snippets of our challenge we sponsored for Scrapbook Inspirations if you want to take a peek. I am now off to do a PDF for the ladies attending the retreat, and we do have 2 places, at a push, if you and a scrapping friend want to come and join us for a weekend of scrapping bliss.

Hope you had a lovely weekend enjoying the first days of summer
