and much more in 2008!!

I have nearly recovered from a weekend of laughter, good food, fantastic company, scrapping and meeting new and old faces. Not sure where to start so I will let the pictures do most of the talking. Lucy Folch's classes were a roaring success, and I so wish I could have sneaked in and done a class.Izzy did get some private tuition, and i will be asking her for some advice!

Annies gorgeous mini book

Lucy in action

Busy cropping

Visitors!

My dearest and most beloved friends, Annie and Sue

Lucy and I, love this girl to pieces!

Saturday night we held our annual charity auction in aid of MS, and the ladies excelled themselves, and we beat last years total and raised a whopping £750.00. Thank you so much, to all the donations received, and the delegates and online bidders who made the evening a success.

Sunday, Lucy and I crashed and decided London Town could wait. We were so tired, and instead Lucy and I took a tour of the London Underground, LOL.

Another year and retreat passes us by and i have another to start arranging!, but not today. i have spent the past 2 days creating for a very special GDT spot.
I am so excited, my fav Kit company and I get to guest!!! Little sneak here, will pop some more on through the week, and keep Monday night free (1am GMT 5pm PST) as I am doing a live chat, yikes!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by

Hugs

MS Awareness Week

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/22/2008 09:12:00 AM 5 lovely comments

This week is MS Awareness week, and ties in perfectly with the charity auction I am holding on Saturday night to raise money for MS

As many of you will be aware, my dad passed away on 15/09/06 after a 15 year battle with MS. My first retreat was only days later, and the UK scrapping community rallied round to donate goods to raise money for this terrible disease. We raised £100/$200 through the sales of raffle tickets

Last year , i did it all again, on a much grander scale, with the help from Ali Edwards and Becky Higgins, as well as manufactures like Tinkering Inks, My Minds Eye and Hambly. On the night, over £700/$1500 was raised, as you can imagine i was ecstatic!.
This year we have donations from Ali Edwards, Emily Falconbridge, Lisa Lam (U Handblog), Lucy Folch and Little Cotton Rabbits, as well as Hambly, Purple Cow, Ellison, Prima, Heidi Grace , to name a handful of wonderful sponsors. (check here for an ever growing list). I hope to raise in excess of last years total, and with the generosity of all the delegates attending this weekends retreat , i know we can.

If you have anything you would like to add to the pool of amazing donations please email me for details to send donations too at albowkis@hotmail.com.
I am running my 5k again on September 7th at Hyde Park, if you wish to sponsor me, my Just Giving page is in the right hand bar.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by and your continous support in raising awareness for MS

Hugs
Anna xx

PS: if you would like to leave a high bid for any of the items featured above, please email your details to me

layouts to share

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/21/2008 11:04:00 AM 17 lovely comments
The house is a tip, my kitchen is piled to the rooftops with dirty dishes, the ironing pile isn't looking that bad, and i decided to start on my new studio! Madness i know, and with a retreat only 5 days away, i must be barking!
Half the room is painted, the floor is down and the units are placed, and that will have to be it till next week!
In the meantime i did manage a few layouts.

This weeks Pencil Lines, sketch by Jana Eubank.

Supplies :

Prima flowers
Heidi Swapp ghost shapes
Kand Co papers
KandCo brads

And here is another layout using this months Scrapping Angels kit and also a 365 layout :)

This last week over at 365 we are doing the Seven Heavenly Virtues. One of the 365ers found a fab quiz to do and I came out as "CHARITY".

Here is my "FORTITUDE" photo and journaling.

FORTITUDE - strength of mind that enables one to endure adversity with courage.
this week i have needed strength of mind and courage. After hearing nasty, cruel things written about myself and my looks all because of my 365 portraits, we sometimes live in a very cruel world :(

It proves you cannot please all of the people all of the time. You photo shop your photos and they are not real, you leave them looking more "au natural" and you are criticized for the "looks" you were born with. Hey, I come complete with age spots, which i hate!, a fat face, dry lips when stressed, hair that falls out (boohoo) and many more ailments to mention, but this is me, and this is the person i need to reflect in my 365 photos!

I will stand of my soap box, lol, and get on with DT deadlines, doing the housework, and all the other mundane tasks of being a WAHM !

Hope you had a good weekend, thanks for stopping by

Catch up!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/17/2008 10:09:00 AM 8 lovely comments
I seem to be running ragged at the moment, LOL, chasing my tail. It is only days until Scrapping Angels retreat next weekend, and as well as being really excited I am also so nervous. I want everything to be perfect, for all the delegates to go away having had the best weekend every, and memories of new friendships formed, and full of inspiring projects and layouts.

I collect Lucy Folch from the airport next Friday, and I cannot wait to meet Lucy in person. A long admirer of her work, and one extremely generous and talented lady! I am so lucky to have not one but 2 original wall hangings made by Lucy for my girls, as well as numerous bits I purchase a while back from her etsy shop. And this my friends is the cutest and most adorable handmade teddy Bear that will be up for auction next weekend, made by the very talented Lucy! I suggest you come arm with plenty of pennies!!

Yesterday I had a lovely day creating, and completed this layout with this months Scrapping Angels kit by Pink Paislee (gallery will be live Friday).

I have know Sue for 3 years now, I cant believe it has been that long, LOL. And everyday our friendship blossoms and grows more, thanks Hun for being a most wonderful friend, xxxx

And this little cutie, which I adore. Now its not often I actually love my own stuff, but this birdhouse is so cute. i am definatly off to Woolworths to raid the shelves for some more. Here is a sneaky peek. You need to check out Easy Craft Projects this weekend to see it in all its cuteness!

The sun is shining, and I am off to create some more

Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by

Thank you!

Aww thank you for all your lovely comments and emails with regard to my "stupid" hand! I am off to see the doctor on Friday and will hopefully get some answers. I was diagnosed a while back with viral arthritis although it did feel different, it may be that, who knows. It just drives me insane and limits My crafting and browsing time. Although doesn't seem to stop me filling my face with galaxy chocolate!

I have managed a bit of scrapping this last week, mainly for the ScrapDreamie blog. We are so lucky this week, we have been playing with the new Sassafras Lass lines. At first glance, i wasn't to sure if I would like them, even though the potential to cut was huge. BUT, i am addicted, I so love the cute "Bambi" deer, and all the dreamy clouds. The stickers are very cute and are perfect to add dimension with some foam pads to any layout.

I made this cute little mini book as my project this week for ScrapDreamie and here's a sneak of a layout I did for tomorrows post.

Pencil Lines went live Sunday, and I used My Minds Eye "Handsome" range and did my 365 layout titled "LUST". Love this photo of Peter, swoon.......

Have you checked out Scrapping Angels April Kit?? Its Pink Paislee Office Lingo and is so strokable! I still have a few left, but be quick!

Today, Sue came over to help sort out the final bits for the retreat which is next weekend!. We tied up loose ends and packed the last of the kits. Sue also provided me with a chocolate croissant for breakfast and an afternoon snack of galaxy!, so naughty but ever so nice, hehehehe

Thanks for stopping by, I am off to cover a bird house for a little project over at Easy Craft Projects

Anger

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/12/2008 10:22:00 PM 6 lovely comments

ANGER - Day 103

I am angry at my hand today. My hand is not doing what it should, it looks like an old ladys hand, its puffy and looks gnarled to me, it doesnt grip, it doesnt work properly. I drop things all the time, pins and needles, numbness, heavy feeling in my arm and dull pain, plague me daily. I am ANGRY :(
Lets hope I find an answer soon. Roll on the 18th

LUST

....today's prompt for the 365 challenge. This week we are doing the Seven Deadly Sins!

I lust over Galaxy chocolate, scrummy stash, good food, Daniel Craig!, and my handsome husband. Of course, with that in mind I had to have a photo of my gorgeous man in the self portrait shot.

Something else I lusted over today at Woolworth's, was this oh so cute bird house. I am going to spruce this little cutie up with some papers and some 3d treatment, and will be put aside to go with my collection of "art", said very loosely I may add, for my new studio! Just waiting to kick Peter out on the 18th so i can get started, LOL. He starts his new job on the 21st.

Have a lovely and scrappy weekend. I have lots planned as i had a lovely lazy day spent with this handsome man, mwah!

Are you still keeping up with the 365 photo and scrapbook challenge?

Can you believe we have hit day 100 and I am still going strong, even though i will admit to not managing a self portrait for all days so far!But life just gets in the way some days, and thats what this is all about.

You can dip in and out at any time, so do pop on over and have a play!

Off to bed now , and then up bright and early to get stuck into some meaty projects!

Monday, monday...........

blogged by me domestic goddess On 4/07/2008 06:11:00 PM 9 lovely comments
Another week has passed me by, and the Easter holidays are over. The girls head back to school tomorrow, and the normality of a week day returns. Not to sure what that normality is, lol, but there is some routine in our life's, in the week, and I need it back!

I have been catching up as best I can this week, and tieing loose ends to the retreat which is less than 3 weeks away!!!!

Finally finished editing photos I took a few weeks ago of Jen Hall and her fiance for an engagement shoot for them. I thoroughly enjoyed taking their photos and hopefully I captured the love they have for each other. This has to be one of my favourites for the day.

Today is the last day of the holidays, and we spent the day with Izzy's boyfriend and his Mum, Laura. We have had a lovely day, and its has been so nice to sit and chat with another adult, and not be scrapbook related,. tbh!!

I am having one of those periods when I start to question the whole, "why do I scrapbook"? thing.
Yes, I know the "preserving memories and stuff", but i am talking the rest, the DT work, being published and the "smacking". Some days I do question it all, and want to just get back to being me, stay in my little room, playing with paper and photos, no one questioning my abilities, whether I am good enough to be on this DT and in that magazine, and all the rest of the "smacking", that comes with being in the "public" eye. Its all very sad really:(.

And with that I am going to snuggle on my sofa, on my own, as Peter is working tonight, watch some trash on the TV and head to bed early, with a good book!

Hugs and as always thanks for stopping by

Anna xx
