The Very Hungry Caterpillar

blogged by me domestic goddess On 3/19/2009 10:52:00 PM

is a brilliant children's book, that also helped me get my job as a teaching assistant, is also 40 years old this year, and Eric Carle is 80!

What does this have to do with anything you may ask? I so love this book and it is celebrating its 40th year and Peter is 40 tomorrow and I have a busy busy day planned!
See you later

What a lovely video. Both my kids adore that book and I remember reading it as a kid, It's definitely a firm favourite around here.

    Happy birthday to Peter too.

I remember it when I was young and all 4 of my kids have loved it.

When my 10 year old was in nursery I and some other mums stayed to help make some story sacks. The Hungry Caterpillar was one of those and we made all the things he ate through out of fabric. It was great fun and they still use it now in foundation stage.
