Can it be done???

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/02/2011 03:27:00 PM
Sainsburys say they can feed 4 people, 3 meals for 7 days, so I am putting them to the test. I have ordered my shopping and I am going to see if I can feed 4 hungry mouths for a week with what they suggest!

Has anyone else tried this?

Breakfast consists of muesli and banana
Lunch a sandwich of some sorts
Dinner looks pretty substantial from what I have seen, but the proof is in the tasting!!

I have had to add some yoghurts on to my list and a few extras for the kids lunch boxes for school but apart from that I have ordered everything on the shopping list!

I will blog each day and let you know how we get on. Shopping arrives tomorrow morning!

Thanks for stopping by
Anna x

I think it looks good, the only thing that concerns me (personally) is that take tomorrow for instance, its bread for breakfast (toast) and bread for lunch..although granted its wholemeal.

I would have thought a cereal would have been better for brekkie or a nice healthy salad for lunch, instead of 2 lots of bread.
some of the recipes look good :) x

There was a piece by a Times journalist who'd tried this a couple of weeks ago (I think it was on Sat May 21st, if you want to chase it up). He said that his family found there was a lack of snacks, a lack of fruit and veg and that some of the products (eg the sausages) were of quite low quality ie a lower meat content than he would usually choose. Will be really interesting to hear how you get on because it sounds fab in theory. Good luck!

I have added yoghurts and i agree on the fruit, can see us having to add to that for sure.
    Will be an interesting test!
