Feeling rested

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/28/2007 07:34:00 PM 4 lovely comments
Wow, its amazing what you can cram into a few days away;
- a funfair
- Chinese takeout
- lunch with good friends
- the beach
- shopping
- and more shopping!
We have had a wonderful few days away, and it has been so good to catch up with the Moons and Gillian. The girls have thoroughly enjoyed the time away, being completely spoilt with lots of hugs and treats by their Godparents, but hey, thats what Godparents are for.
Arrived home last night and I put the finishing touches to the class I was teaching at our birthday crop today. It was a great crop, new and old faces, lots of scrummy homemade cake, yum yum, and our birthday lucky dip. I feel like i haven't seen the girls for days, silly eh, it has only been a few hours, and they are back to school tomorrow. I guess spending all week with them and then being away for a few hours was just too much for me....

I have gone completely pumpkin mad these last few layouts, and my class Lo and Pencil Lines layout show just what I mean.

The wonderful Stephanie at Fiskars is our GDT this week and we are so lucky to have been sponsored by Fiskars. All my supplies used are from Heidi Grace, and I absolutely adore this range and need more.

My class layout has been made using supplies from the October Scrapping Angels kit.

I can see me scrapping this photo of Lilly, time and time again, how cute just she look!I am off to enjoy a scrummy Chicken Sandabon (sp?), a clay oven dish with lemon and coriander, absolutely gorgeous, feet up as I am knackered from the weeks adventurers!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

Hugs

Pumpkin Patch!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/24/2007 10:57:00 PM 18 lovely comments

This, has been a year in the making for Sue and I, honestly. I know it sounds odd, but we completely missed the whole pumpkin thing last year, due to weather and other commitments. We were so determined to make it out to Willow Farm this year, as a family, of course!, but also as scrappers, lol!!!

Today's post is full, of just a selection of my favourite photos from today.
And with that I bid you farewell as I am off to Newcastle tomorrow afternoon for a few days.

Pencil Lines midweek sketch is up by the wonderful Gillian Hamilton, as are the Readers Gallery winners.
Have a fab few days

I LOVE High School Musical!!! ( and this little cutie above!!) Me and the girls have been on a road trip to Bury St Edmunds and have sang our hearts out to the sound track of HSM2!!!! I have felt like one of the girls today, its been such a ball. So what was I doing in Bury? I was visiting my good and dear friend Annie. We have all had such a great day. After the most gorgeous lunch Annie prepared for us, we went bowling,a great success with all the children, well except Addie who really wanted to join in!! Then it was home for a movie "Racing Stripes". I have yet to watch this movie properly, but from what I have seen of it, I must buy it, just my kinda film for a Sunday afternoon with popcorn!
Having Fun

I have finished a couple of more DT creations for 2Jills and Paper Jam Studio this week, and am just waiting for tomorrows planned photo shoot at a pumpkin field to start my Pencil Lines layout for Sunday!!!
Paper Jam Studio
2 Jills sneak peek

I am all armed with memory card, pack lunch, wellies and warm coordinating clothes (OK so that bit is a tad hopeful!) all ready to depart for Wellyn Garden City to meet up with Sue and family and off to the Pumpkin patch!!

Miss Addie

Don't forget to check Pencil Lines out tomorrow for a great mid week sketch and our gallery winners tomorrow night!
Hope you all had a great Tuesday

Had lots of fun playing with my Paper Jam Studio kit by Piggy Tales and Pencil Lines this week

I used the scrummy kit by PJS for my Pencil Lines layout by the very talented Lucy Folch. I love this girls work and have been a great admirer for a while now. I am the lucky owner of a few of Lucy's artistic creations :)

Go check out the DT's awesome work.
We have had a quiet , relaxing weekend, and today I picked up my copies of Scrapbook Inspirations and The Scrapbook magazine. I always get excited seeing my layouts in print. As a contributor, I am commissioned months in advance and often forget what I have done!!
My favourite layout this month was my "I heart being a mum" that was the four ways challenge for TSBM, cant wait to get this back :)
And for those that don't purchase the magazine, here's are a few of the layouts I had published.

Happy Hump Day!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/17/2007 05:15:00 PM 10 lovely comments
I am still working through my "To Do" list and today completed my projects for Easy Craft Projects and Scrapping Angels.
Made a cute candy cone for my project at Easy Crafts. This is so easy and quick to make, and will look just as good made for your Christmas tree, pop on over to Lisa's site for full instructions.
I had fun playing with this months Scrapping Angels kit. Full of lots of Autumnal embellishments and Crush papers form Crate, one of my favourite paper manufacturers. I also love the Bazzill pinked card stock this month.

Here is a sneak and a few things I have been making.

Pencil Lines mid week sketch went live this evening. Our guest designer was Caroline from Maya Road. The sketch was for a mini book, and i layered the both sides of the sketch into one and i created a canvas using this months Scrapping Angels kit.
I adore both Tracie and Jolene's mini books made from transparencies. But Annie's interpretation blew me away... that's all I have to say, you need to drop in and check the artwork out for yourselves....
I also received my DT kit from 2 Jills, which unfortunately will be my last as they are closing on 31/10. Full of Fancy Pants, felt, thread, fibres and sequins, I cannot wait to start creating!

Tomorrow night is the deadline for Top Designer. I have sketched out my layout and have it perfectly formed in my head, now to gather my stash and put the idea down on paper!!!
I am so shocked that I even made it to the final, and am just so thrilled to have got this far, and have so enjoyed the ride!!!

Scrap Scene

A couple of weeks Angie from Scrap Scene contacting me asking if I would do the "Spotlight on a Designer" interview. I was so thrilled to be asked and today the interview went live. You can read it here.

BTW this layout was also featured over at Aussie Scrap Source blog, spotlighting SEI products.
Its been a busy day for me today. I have been finishing up a Halloween project for Lisa at Easy Craft Projects, a cute little candy cone, perfect for Halloween party favours, and would look equally gorgeous in Christmas colours on your tree with gifts tucked inside.

I am currently working on lots of exciting stuff at the moment.
Paper Jam Studio Kit
Scrapping Angels Christmas workshop projects and kit
Pencil Lines sketches
Bad Girls Top Designer layout
Magazine editorial

Lots to keep me busy wouldn't you say?! And with that in mind I am keeping this short and sweet for tonight.

Thank you's all round

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/14/2007 04:43:00 PM 12 lovely comments
I am overwhelmed by all the congratulations and words of encouragement i have had for the Bad Girls Top Designer competition. I am through to the final 10 from a list of about 200 I believe. I am gobsmacked that I am through and the standard is extremely high. This weeks class is to combine all the class elements from the past 5 weeks into our final assignment, its a toughy!!!!
As well as thanking you guys, I have a HUGE thank you to my fellow designers over at Pencil Lines. That gorgeous team of ladies that I can hand on heart call friends, have been creating behind my back, and have made me the most amazing book of thanks. I was completely bowled over by their journaling, and will treasure this always. Thank you so much xxxxxx
OK gushing over, lets get down to the weekends activities, lol.
Well i have been plagued with more awful headaches :(, another afternoon spent under the covers for 3 hours. Feel a bit better today and managed to finish a few projects i have had on the go.

Pencil Lines is live and this weeks sponsorship was kindly donated by 3 Bugs in a Rug, and I am officially addicted to the Chalk collection!!! I love it!

All supplies for my layout are by 3 Bugs in a Rug.

I made this canvas using more scrummy 3 Bugs of Lilly and her 1st day at school. Lots of paper flower layering.

Our field is awash with mushrooms, all shapes and sizes, sprouting up everywhere, and I could not resist popping out to the field armed with my camera, Peters shoes and comfies, for some photos. Mushrooms fascinate me, such a magical shape.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

Hugs

More Sneaky Peaks!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/12/2007 11:05:00 AM 11 lovely comments
I have been snowed under by piles of pretty paper and flowers, so I am not complaining!
I have finished this weeks Pencil Lines sketch, as well as my Bad Girls Top Designer assignment.
The postal strikes here in the UK are driving me nuts as I am waiting on DT stuff and pretty post, none of which is arriving, although UPS did deliver a scrummy box full of Cosmo Cricket for Christmas classes I am teaching !!!!
Pencil Lines

I am very proud of my girls always, but this week more than normal. Thursday night is swimming lessons and both the girls are excelling amazingly. Lilly swam a whole width without a buoyancy aid. I am so proud of her. She was also leader at school on Monday and lats night came home with the Good Behaviour cup. She was one proud bunny!
Izzy's swimming skills are coming along so well, and she is now able to put her face in the water. this in turn as allowed her to start using her arms correctly when doing the crawl. On the homework front , her English literature is coming along really well. I am a big English Lit fan and it so so lovely to see Izzy enjoying the writing experience.
Bad Girls - Class 5
I have been out everyday this week, and today actually enjoying being home to do some catching up.I am hoping to st rat on the Christmas workshop samples now i have the papers. Peter is away in Southampton until tomorrow night so its just me and the girls for a couple of days. This will mean snuggles in bed, DVDs and chocolate spread sarnies in bed!!! Don't you just love it when being naughty is so darn good!!!!

Have a great Friday
