I am here, honest, after my boring last post, I have been very busy creating! ( as well as being stricken by the dreaded tummy bug.) Several deadlines needed completing, and with pencil lines about to celebrate their 1st anniversary, its all been a bit mad around here! So this is what I have been up to!

My Bad Girls Round 3

Yes lots of Amy Butler, in fact I have completed 4 Amy Butler projects these last few days!
This is a project for my October 1st announcement and a photo swap for a cropping friend. She will get this tomorrow in a frame, I so hope she likes it! I used Basic Grey Scarletts Letter from a Scrummy Stash Cafe kit.

A little peek of my project for Easy Craft Projects here as well. The full project with instructions and supply list will be on Lisa's site this week

And finally a few sneaks of my Pencil Lines layout, yes thats more Amy Butler you see!

I think thats enough pictures for one post, dont you!! I have been busy card making too with all my scraps, and will share what i can tomorrow, as a few are for DT's. I am off cropping and packing Octobers kit tomorrow, have a fab Sunday!!

Amy Butler is in da house!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 9/26/2007 10:05:00 PM 10 lovely comments

Life is odd at the moment. I am into my second week with both the girls at school, and a 5 1/2 hour day, but I have never been so busy, BUT I have nothing to share, no exciting stories, no layouts, nothing!

This week has been mundane doing loads of paper work, ordering the next 2 months kits and getting a few odds and ends out of the way. I have quite a few projects to get finished this week. One of which is for Easy Craft Projects. I am doing a really cute mini book made from different shape and sizes of tags using the most gorgeous Amy Butler papers. Drool, i adore my Amy Butler papers, so much that I have no idea how I am even going to cut into them! But cut into them I will. I bought papers, embellies, ribbon, everything and anything Amy Butler the other day, I fell in love instantly.

Have you got a favourite designer, must have collection at the moment? Share with me, and indulge in my passion for all things paper.......

Weekend Celebrations

blogged by me domestic goddess On 9/24/2007 02:40:00 PM 8 lovely comments

We have had a really busy weekend, with Izzy's party playing top priority on Saturday. Although, poor thing was extremely poorly first thing and only started to perk up an hour before her party started!!

The theme; High School Musical!. We decked the house in red and yellow balloons, HSM party paraphernalia, gold fringe curtain, lots of poppy music, and a BBQ and cold buffet. Around 40 people arrived (28 being kids!) to celebrate Izzy's birthday. A brilliant evening was had by all, with a few girls dressed in their HSM gear, don't you just wish you were 7 again?!

I was ready to crash when everyone had gone, but opted for a few bottles outside with Sue and Peter instead.
Sunday was clear up day, Sue and I were armed with bin liners clearing up the bombsite that was left, but no casualties were to be found. Well actually thats not entirely true. Poor Holly woke up from Lilly's room with blood pouring from her knee, having been cut by glass/plastic!!! Daylight, revealed a g;ass angel had been broken, poor Holly.... Dr Pete rushed over with his very swish Medical bag and bandaged the patients knee. A quick recovery was made.

Pencil Lines went live last night with our very own Kimmy designing an awesome sketch and providing us with fantastic Francis Meyer sponsorship.

The only additional product i used was a Hambly journalling overlay, all products are Francis Meyer.

I have been working on some projects with the September kit lately. I made this layout for Izzy, using photos taken on Friday, her birthday. All dressed up in her HSM cheerleading outfit. I have a gorgeous black 12"x12" scrapbook frame from "A touch of crafts" that I am going to frame for izzy and put in her room.
Also made this cute "congratulations" card for my cousins daughter who passed her GCSE's with flying colours, all A's and A+.

I received 2 pieces of good news this weekend. 1st i am through to round 3 of Bad Girls Top Designer contest, a complete surprise i must admit, the standard is so high!

2nd news i have, i cannot announce until October 1st, but is very exciting :):).

Hope you all had a great weekend

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IZZY, 7 TODAY!!!!!!

My baby girl is 7 today, and all grown up!. We took her out to Frankie and Benny's, and she had a 3 piece Monsoon number on and her proper white shoes, mums lip gloss on and she looked so grown up!

We have had a lovely afternoon and evening all together. we bought Izzy her first "proper" bike and she has already learnt to ride it, and we are so proud of her!. Lilly bought her the High School Musical dressing up box, OMG lets just say she was ecstatic, bless her. The day was ended with a meal at her favourite restaurant, Frankie and Benny's. The girls are absolutely pooped and tucked up in bed. Tomorrow brings more excitement as we are having her High School Musical Party tomorrow night for 40 guests!!!!

See you all tomorrow night with plenty of photos I am sure

1st day at school

blogged by me domestic goddess On 9/19/2007 04:52:00 PM 9 lovely comments

My baby girl has started school and is loving it!! I on the other hand am missing her like crazy, blubbed on Monday and have kept extremely busy since. Peter took the day off on Monday and we went shopping and had lunch, yesterday a friend came round for the day, peter has been at home today and tomorrow i am off to see Sue, just leaves Friday when i will be busy organising Izzy's birthday!!.

And with all this so called free time available, i seem to have had less time to blog and surf forums on a daily basis, instead i have actually been working.
I am still on a high from Sunday's race, and am off out on Friday for a run, and am already booked to do a fun 3k run in November, and looking for my 10k run to book and train for.
Peters cousin was the county's number 1 runner and is going to come out with me in the near future and hopefully give me some tips.

Creatively I have been quite. Pencil Lines went live on Sunday and I loved the sketch and my layout this week. "When I grow up I want to be Annie" A joke between Annie and I, I so admire this woman, her strengths and energy to life, and i wanna be her, lol.

Supplies are :
Scrap Works pattern paper
Bazzill card stock
Technique Tuesday stamps
Owl stamp from stamps away
Various buttons

Tomorrow I am off to spend the day with Sue and have a belated birthday lunch, cant wait!

A massive huge thank you to everyone for your donations and support by email, blogging and e- cards! (thanks Sandie) and the hugest thank you goes to my adorable family and Sue and Holly ,who got up at a ridiculous hour yesterday morning, to take the trip to London and shake their pom poms and exercise their lungs, in support of me, I am so grateful.
Me and Peter!

with my medal, exhausted!

Stupid here, did a classic Anna and forgot her memory card!!!! thank goodness for out photographer of the day, the lovely Sue, who took lots of photos of the day for me to scrap a mini book at a later date!

The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was electric and i thoroughly enjoyed teh day. I ran a personal best of 36 minutes!!!! I really am proud of that. I sprinted to the finishing line, lol. I will be doing this run again next year without fail.
After the race and many photos later, by Sue and the official photographers, we made it to the grassy mound for a picnic.
We eventually made it back home around 4pm, after a stop to a MacDonald's, yuck, and i crashed in bed by 10pm!
Today has been another amazing day with Lilly's first day at school, and yes i cried. I am going to leave those photos until tomorrow, as i want to leave you with my photos from yesterday.
Finally, its a Happy Birthday to our Sue!!!!!, have a wonderful day hun, see you Thursday for fishcakes and chocolate brownies!!!!

Miss you Dad

blogged by me domestic goddess On 9/15/2007 02:52:00 PM 15 lovely comments

Doesn't need to be said , it really does go without saying, I love you and miss you like crazy Dad.
One whole year that i haven't sat by your bed and held your frail hand, One whole year that we haven't put the worlds to right, One whole year that we haven't laughed and shared Maynards wine gums together, One whole year that I haven't heard you say "princess". Even though I am so terribly sad, its a selfish sadness, I know you are in a better place and I know you watch over me, in the guise of a white butterfly! I know its you, you always make an appearance when i am swearing blue murder out on a run, lol, or having a strop!!!

Well tomorrow dad, is for you. I am off to swear blue murder around Hyde Park in memory of you, and raise money for MS. I am so nearly there, only £45 away from my target!!! I will make it, I am positive of that. You always tell me to shoot for the moon, and if i end up with the stars, its a pretty good aim!!!!. Tomorrow I am aiming for the moon!!!

Today is still another day for everyone else, and i have been scrapping. Finished my Pencil Lines layout and a winter layout for a Canadian magazine. Really am pleased with my Winter layout. Here are a few sneak peeks .

I have also been making cards as well, have a few birthdays in the pipeline and I have enjoyed making cards again, nothing fancy, all pretty plain and simple from me. Its comforting to spend maybe only 30 minutes in my scrap room and have a couple of mini creations finished!!
We have had a lovely few hours down by the river this afternoon, still didn't managed Grandad's park, one day!
I will be back tomorrow with pictures of the RUN, in the meantime if you still want to sponsor me and help me make my target, you can go to my fundraising page or mail me payment to anna@scrappingangels.co.uk via paypal.

A huge thank you to everyone who has sent me words of encouragement today, it has meant alot, xxxx

Blogging for 2 years!!!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 9/10/2007 04:04:00 PM 117 lovely comments
I have been blogging for exactly 2 years(well 2 years yesterday!), so this calls for a celebration and I am a RAKing again!!!!
Its been an amazing 2 years of feelings, ups and downs, and of course this time last year shows my emotions at their lowest. As well as my own personal emotions, it will be the 9/11 anniversary tomorrow. Many wonderful things have happened to me which i have enjoyed sharing with you all, i have met many wonderful people while blogging, many talented and amazing artists and have made special friendships, all through blogging that I am extremely grateful for.

And with this all in mind and to keep my spirits up here is my Birthday RAK. Just make a post, feel free to tell me what your highest point has been , and the number generator will pick not one winner, but 2 as its my 2nd birthday!!! Lots of paper, cardstock, embelishments and a magazine on making the most of your chipboard!
Well i have been playing and was desperate to scrap but didn't know what to scrap, what papers to play with, so i grabbed a bag of scraps and ended up with some scrummy Wild Asparagus. I made a layout and 2 cards.

I have been wanting to use this Junkitz flower ever since i bought it, but never found a home on a layout that pleased me, this layout had the perfect spot for it! I am loving my foofala buttons which of course had to make an appearance. Buttons and paper flowers seem to be my thing at the moment, lol.

And here is my Pencil Lines layout in full. Everything i have used was supplied in the I "Heart" Candy kit by SIStv. Thanks Jeanette for your generosity and sponsoring the DT, we have had a ball!!!!.

Hope you all have a great Monday and don't forget to make a post to win my BIRTHDAY RAK :)

Timing is everything!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 9/08/2007 09:45:00 PM 19 lovely comments
I don't think I have ever purchased Simple Scrapbooks magazine, just been lucky to have been passed a copy on from a friend before. When placing an order for some stash this week, i bought a copy and sat down the other day to flick through and i came across an article which was just perfect for me, at this time!

"Coping with Loss" by Angie Lucas (pg117)The article followed 4 woman who had lossed someone and how they had found solace in scrapbooking, and helped with the healing process, from loosing a parent to a loved one. After reading this article, i headed to my scrap room and pulled out the only photo i posses of dad and I as a child, and I scrapped!!! And it felt good. It's funny as I did this after dad passed away, and haven't since, this article just gave me the push i needed at this time.

I was also inspired by a beautiful layout i had seen of Lucy's that she had done of her father as a baby, that i took inspiration from her layout and used her "frame idea".

This is such a brilliant idea. These gorgeous papers come from Creative imaginations. I used my craft knife to cut out the middle of the paper and used it as a "frame" on my layout, I love it!!i also stamped a border down one side using Technique Tuesday stamps and added lots of paper flowers as well as this leather flower that i found in a box of odds and ends!

Tonight is Pencil Lines new sketch upload. We were very lucky and were sponsored this week by a very "hip and funky" kit company, you do not want to miss this weeks! Here are a few sneaks to keep you guessing!!

I am off to spend the afternoon scrapping, baking and lolling around with Peter and the girls, have a lovely Sunday afternoon

TGIF

blogged by me domestic goddess On 9/07/2007 11:35:00 AM 15 lovely comments
Its Friday and the sun is shining, even though I am struggling at the moment with Dad's first anniversary looming ever nearer, I am trying to keep smiling and be positive. It weird though I seem to be reliving this time last year day by day and spent most nights crying my eyes out. I get angry with myself and am shocked at how this has effected me so. My charity run is only days away and I will be out this afternoon doing my training run, whilst reminding myself why I am doing this..... I am doing this to raise money for MS and in memory of a man i am very lucky to have known and call my Dad......
I managed to find some mojo to complete a deadline that i was behind on, these summer holidays have really taken their toll on my creativity, lol.

Here's a sneak peek of yesterdays creative session.

Today, Septembers kit went live, loving this kit, reminiscent of days gone by from the thirties and forties, of old movie stars and black and white films. Cannot wait to get creating with this kit, also GDT this month is Tracie Hudson, stepping in for Annie whilst she is in Seattle.

Received happy post this morning, with some Scenic Route and magazines, Creating Keepsakes and Simple Scrapbooks. Off to curl on the sofa with a cuppa coffee and a good read! Then its back to the scrapping table to do this weeks Pencil Lines sketch with some amazing sponsored goodies.

have a good Friday

First Day Back!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 9/05/2007 04:23:00 PM 7 lovely comments
Izzy had her first day back to Buckden Primary school today, as a year 2 student! She has had butterflies all morning, bless her and was dressed and fed, sat on the sofa by 8.10am all ready to go to school. This I might add will be the first and only time this school year!
I always forget something, and today it was lunch money!! no lunch money , no lunch, is the new rule, or so it said in last years letter, luckily they said they would feed Izzy!!! which came with a wink, i am too well known for my disorganisation skills by the school as well!

Good news came today in a letter from Izzys head, asking me to start my after school craft clubs. i am so excited about this. It seems to me children do not get enough craft time at school. I taught scrapbooking to Year 1 and 2 with great success and it was then that i saw the lack of materials and equipment they actually had. I will have fun making lots of exciting projects over a 6 week course. Just waiting for my police checks to be done and then it will be all systems go with "Lil Scrapping Angels".
More good news comes for Scrapping Angels retreat number 3, all of our teachers have now been finalised as

Anna Bowkis (me!!)
Annie Hafermann
Lucy Folch
Tracie Hudson

Check out the blog for details, and go book now as we only have a handful of places left now.
Our bedroom is nearly finished, here are a few photos that Izzy took, lol as another night of
wallpapering came to an end. And the inspiration for my room, these 2 candles.

I am off to hopefully do some creating tonight, how about you?
Hugs
