Today is Thanksgiving in the US. I wish all my friends from across the pond and closer, a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I am thankful to have the most wonderful husband and 2 beautiful and healthy girls in my world. I am thankful that we have Suki our crazy mad dog, whom I love to bits!
I am thankful that I have found photography  and that I have been given the chance to take this love a step further, thanks to the support of family and friends.

I am thankful to have scrapbooking in my life even though at times I just stare at a blank page, LOL. Looking through my albums last night gave me a tingly feeling of joy.

I am also thankful that I got to photograph this gorgeous 3 month baby a few weeks ago! Thank you Laura.

Whatever you are doing to today, whether you are enjoying a Thanks Giving with family and friends or snowed in, I hope you are with those you love. Take some time to be thankful...

Digital Scrapbooking

blogged by me domestic goddess On 11/22/2010 08:04:00 PM 2 lovely comments
I have made the journey to my scraproom this week and 2 layouts have been completed and 1 is waiting to be glued down; quite an achievement for me at the moment. The weather is so dark and dreary at the moment and the nights are drawing in earlier and earlier each day, that I decided to have another go at digital scrapbooking. I used this weeks Pencil Lines FREE template and completed a layout, not in record time though as it too me ages LOL. Laura Vegas is our guest designer this week and also provided this weeks sketch. Pop by Pencil Lines to see the design teams layouts and learn more about Laura!

(Keep an eye out this week on my blog as I have a copy of a digital scrapbook program to review!)

I chose photos of the girls as evacuees.

Digital credits : Paislee Press papers, Jessica Sprague journaling tags, S J Towers alphabet, Oscraps embellishments, Shabby Princess tape

Here is this weeks digital template. You can download from here.

Thanks for stopping by. Would love to see your creations with this weeks digital template from Pencil Lines.

Mid Life Crisis??

blogged by me domestic goddess On 11/18/2010 08:19:00 AM 4 lovely comments
I am here, honest, just in a funny place at the moment. With 2011 looming closer each day, I start to evaluate my life and what I have and have not achieved the past year, and where I would like to be this time next year; this year I am confused LOL.
Not hard I can assure you. My scrapbooking seems to have been on the back burner lately, and I have deadlines that have past and I really want to go scrap but my mojo as upped and gone somewhere very far away! I love scrapbooking, love everything about it, but I am just not "in that scrapbooking place" recently.
I am really enjoying my photography and am going to take that to the next level next year (January 2011 new website launched). My confidence is at a low with my photography though, as I see more and more scrapbookers taking the road to becoming professional photographers, and I dont want to be just another wanna be photographer. I really am taking this seriously and want to be taken seriously back.
And lastly I have been taking a Speech and Language course for under 5's level 3 and Monday is the last day of the course. I have enjoyed it so much and soaked up everything I have been taught, enjoyed doing my portfolio. The decision is , do I take this to the next level and specialize in this field at school or just carry on as a TA, pick up my check at the end of the month?
Oh decisions decisions, maybe I am having a mid life crisis!!!

So my friends, I need your help, what do I do???

Sponsor - Photo Canvas

blogged by me domestic goddess On 11/10/2010 07:51:00 PM 1 lovely comments
Each month I will be highlighting a sponsor of Scrapping Tonight on my blog.
This month I am really excited to introduce Photo's on Canvas. With my photography business launching next year this is a product I am really interetsed in.

Here is what Photo Canvas had to say :

Our canvas prints are a fine way to display your digital photos. We print on real woven canvas without plastic coatings and then our canvas prints are custom hand stretched over a strong anti-warping stretcher frame. We print and frame here combining high quality digital canvas printing at a great price with same day despatch and next day delivery if ordered before 2pm Mon to Friday.  Free preview service or human photo check, red eye and blemish reduction, free conversion to black and white, and free wall fixings too.  Plus, our robust award winning build quality means we give our canvas prints a Lifetime Guarantee.

At Photo-Canvas we have a range of standard sizes, based on our most popular selling items. These standard sizes can be turned around on average 30% faster than a made-to-measure canvas. They are also in the correct aspect ratio for a standard photo.
The sizes are listed in our standard print sizes page. You can also check if your photo is suitable for large size canvas print. Or order a free sample print on a piece of canvas to see the great quality of our products.

Photo Canvas are also offering buy 2 get 1 free; perfect Christmas presents I reckon! I cannot wait to get my canvas's this week that I have ordered for our bedroom.

So exited to be launching my photography site properly in January 2011!
My love of photography has been with me for as long as I can remember, and I have always had a cmera by my side. Drawers overflow with traditional photo albums, and my hard drive is overflowing with digital prints. One thing that does sadden me, is I have very few photos of my childhood, and I mean very few, probaly only a handful!
I realize how important it is to preserve memories through my lens, and I am constantly taking photos of our daily lives however mundane they may seem. I try and capture the girls school events as often as is possible; we are one of the schools still able to photograph our kids at school!
I take photos regulary at the school I work at also, and when a child form my class didnt have his school photo taken, the photo I had taken of him at school will be tresured by his family.

I have scrapbooked for over 5 years now, but my passion is dwindling, this saddens me and I do hope it will come back soon, but I have my passion for photography to continue treasuring the memories.

I have invested in new camera equipment, a new website, and product packaging. An identity is important to me, and I want my clients to have fun opening their package and reliving those memories now and for years to come!

My name cards arrived from Moo last week, and I am starting to feel like a "proper" business now.
My packaging is nearly finalized as well; aqua and lime green fresh and youthful!

Each order will be presented in a lime green paper bag with a twisted handle, product will be wrapped in aqua tissue paper with raffia and a photo swing tag.

The lovely Becky from last weekend photo shoot

A thank you card with a photo taken from your shoot will also be added to your package. Cannot wait to share images soon.
I am working hard on the website, and am loving the look so much. In the meantime if you wish to see my work and hear about special offers and photo shoot details, join my fan page here.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and for all the support in my new venture

BBBrrrrrr its so cold here in Blightey, wind, rain and freezing cold makes you want to stay wrapped up at home dreaming of Summer again.
When I visited Cromer last summer (2009), I fell in love with the beach huts, coloured walls and bunting.
Cromer was filled with colours that make you smile. This week I am inspired by blues, yellow and reds.

1. colour therapy, 2. Colorfull Scarlet Macaw's Feather, 3. Some candy for the weekend?, 4. Where the sour turns to sweet, 5. Red, Yellow and Blue, 6. red and yellow blues, 7. Reds and Yellows, 8. yellow & red harvest, 9. Yellow and red

Here is my colour combo based on the mosiac above :

Hope you enjoy working with my Beach Hut colour combo.

The Vegetarian

blogged by me domestic goddess On 11/05/2010 06:28:00 PM 4 lovely comments
Lilly has decided that she wishes to become a  vegetarian. She has been talking about this for a couple of months, and yesterday made the decision that she doesnt like animals being killed for food and that she wants to be a vegetarian.
Last nights chicken nuggets didnt get eaten, and the bacon sarnies I made for supper were given up for tomato soup. I was a vegetarian for many years, until a hangover about 15 years ago had me begging for a bacon sarnie!
I don't eat much meat still, and prefer fish and a veggie option any day!
I will be sending a letter into school for the dinner ladies and we will do our best at home to introduce vegetarian meals for us all to help Lilly. I for one will be happy, not to sure about my meat and potato gang though!

If anyone has any experiences or any good website for vegetarian kids then I would love to hear from you.

Are you one of the lucky 16 winner form our Pencil Lines birthday weekend? The list is here, so go check it out!

Looking forward to the weekend, and a baby shoot tomorrow morning! Have received my name cards and stickers/seals from Moo this morning, now finalising packaging this weekend. Only a few more weeks until the launch of annabowkisphotography! So excited....
