Quiet weekend

blogged by me domestic goddess On 11/30/2008 08:54:00 PM 11 lovely comments
We are still pretty poorly here, although the girls perked up a bit this afternoon, so I have everything crossed they will be at school tomorrow. I know they want to go back as they have started Christmas preparations.

I didn't wake up until 1 pm yesterday and spent the day in my PJ's. had a better day today, but still feeling well under par, although I have managed to eat a bit today.
Thankfully I had the energy to do my Pencil Lines layout for this week, as I love the sketch. This weeks guest designer is Ingvild Bolme, whose work blows me away, and is joining Bad Girls from December.

I used Jenni Bowlin papers, Making Memories notelets, Scenic Route chipboard, Prima flowers and AC thickers. I love this photo of Lilly, all dressed up with full lips of lippy!! That smile melts my heart every day.
I love the new Crate paper with the holes punched out around the edge. I decided to get my crop a dile out and punch a few holed around the bottom and edge of the JB paper. I wouldn't look to close , I am not a perfectionist!

I have lots of Christmas crafts to share with you next week, and if anyone was at the Scrapping Angels Christmas Workshop, its time to start filling our Christmas journal! I will share my pages with you daily! Here is a sneak of a paper wreath I have made.

Hugs and thanks for stopping by

I am nursing a family of poorly peeps, including myself *cough cough*, and I have no camera today, as Peter has taken it to work, for the opening of his new center, so so proud of him.
And today I was going to shower my blog with festive frolics, and glitter, instead I am going to share (some of ) my birthday wish list with you! Its FIVE FAV FRIDAY

1. How kitch are these aprons? I am in love with them. Go visit here for more pretty goodness

2. Love these camera straps, fancy something new and funky for shoots, and you can purchase matching wrist straps and lens cases!

3. As I have started getting my needle and thread out a bit more, I fancy something pretty to pop all my sewing bits into. This will do just that, and look pretty sitting in my studio!

4. Now for some chilled out music whilst I am sewing away

5. Finally a good book to be inspired by . I am a huge fan of Lee Millar's photography, and was blown away by the exhibition I was lucky to have gone to, when Peter and I were in Barcelona last year. An amazing woman.

Please link me to your FIVE FAV FRIDAY. I love to be inspired by all the eye candy out there!

Playing Doctor

My poor Lilly seems to be constantly ill at the moment, and is of school again and will be for at least another day, poor thing.
She came home from school yesterday looking all pale and watery eyed, I knew then she was coming down with something.

Izzy came home from school full of news to tell us, she is now a Buckden Buddy, a Playground Pal! She had to fill in a questionnaire ages ago, about why she wanted to be a Buckden Buddy, and help those who were lonely at playtime, or had no one to play with. I am so proud of her, as she has wanted to be a Buckden Buddy so badly.

While Lilly was asleep on the sofa, I managed to play some more with my December Bad Girl kit.

A little sneak of my altered project!

Comfy weekend

blogged by me domestic goddess On 11/24/2008 01:23:00 PM 6 lovely comments
I have had one of those weekends i have been dreaming off for weeks, and this weekend i had it.
It was bitterly cold outside, i had no plans, so the weekend was spent locked up at home, roaring fire on the go, unlimited cuddles on the sofa and homemade comfort food all weekend! Bliss.....

I managed to do lots of scrapping as well. I finally managed to do Pencil Lines sketch 111, a week late I know, but I loved the sketch by SJ.

I used We R Memory Keepers and Autumn leaves.

Before I bombard you with loads of layout photos, here is a cheeky photo of hot chocolate and a muffin, yummy. Sue and I met up Friday for a spot of Christmas shopping. I am so happy i got quite a bit done for the girls, and I am not stressed at all! Of course the hot chocolate may have helped, lol.

So the weekend and scrapping, hasn't been done in a long time. I spent a far bit of time in my studio whilst the girls watched some DVD's, and I worked on my December Bad Girls kit. Just a few spoilers to whet the appetite!

Pencil Lines sketch 112 went live with Claire Wheatley and a great sketch by Michelle Filo. Love this sketch and can see me using it again.

Supplies used are:
Heather Bailey papers
Bazzill c/s
Hambly rubons
KandCO title
Prima flower.
This week sees me finishing up DT work for Bad Girls and ECP, keeping warm as it is so cold at the moment and gearing up for Christmas
Hope you all had a warm weekend
Hugs

Christmas Crafting..

blogged by me domestic goddess On 11/19/2008 10:14:00 PM 7 lovely comments
Feeling much better today, although I seem to have caught a bout of horrid stomach cramps from somewhere! had me doubled up in pain this afternoon.
Luckily, before the cramps I managed to start on my Christmas photo cards. Here is a sneak of them so far. Check out Easy Craft Projects next week for a step by step.

I completed a Prima Piantables layout as well. I had attempted a paintables once before at Sue's one afternoon, sat at her kitchen table. I bought us some water colour pencils, and we played, and we gave up....... Our efforts were worse than a kindergarten kid!

So when I heard Tracie was doing a make and take using Prima Paintables, I jumped at the chance to have a play. And you know what? I am pretty chuffed with my finished result. even Peter and the girls asked if I had painted the flowers, or did the paper come like that! I can assure you, this is a compliment from Peter! Tracie, I think you have converted me to dabble again, thank you....

The rest of week see's me finishing my Christmas workshop class for Bad Girls, and making a start on my December Bad Girls kit, as well as making a wreath from paper!

Friday I am off to meet Sue at Stevenage for a spot of Christmas shopping, and a Hot Chocolate, although she doesn't know this yet, LOL. I am also heading to Asda for a baking tray or two for some crimbo crafting!!
Talking of Christmas. Izzy asked me in the car today, on our way to swimming lessons, if Santa existed!?!

"Yes of course he does, why do you ask?" as you can imagine panic set in, she has only just turned 8!!
" Matthew at school said he doesn't. He says, that like your Mum puts out the Easter Eggs at Easter, its your Mum and Dad that put out the presents"
I am now so upset and gutted at the thought that the magic of Christmas is all over because of one smart arse!

" But you believe in Santa, don't you hun"
" Well yes mummy, the mince pie and carrot, they have been eaten by Santa and the reindeer"
" That's right darling, maybe Matthew doesn't put out food, so he doesn't know what happens"

I so hope I can keep that little bit of magic and sparkle in her for just a few more weeks and have this Christmas. I have booked us all to see Santa at Milton Keynes shopping Center on the 21st December. I have the tickets and the girls are so excited.

No "Celebrity Get me Out of Here" due to the footie, (sad I know),so I am off to my bed

Hugs and thanks as always for stopping by.

Feeling yuck

blogged by me domestic goddess On 11/17/2008 04:21:00 PM 6 lovely comments
Feeling poorly with laryngitis, thankfully it started on my drive home from ATDML retreat, where I was teaching. I had a blast, meeting lots of familiar faces and some new. It is always good to see Tracie, and Debbie , whom I haven't seen in ages since our ScrapDreamie days.
I actually have not a single photo to share from the weekend either, which must be a first!. I did get to play with Tracie's D300 and I am converted! Unfortunately the bank manager isn't, so will have to just dream about owning one instead!.

Pencil Lines went live last night with Sarah Jane Dowsett. I was hoping to get my layout finished and loaded for today, but with Lilly of school and me just cabbaged on the sofa, it just hasn't happened.

Here is my layout that I taught at ATDML.

I used Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine and Hambly transparency, Prima swirl and bloom

Hope you had a good weekend

Talking of Bad Girls, my November layouts are up on the Bad Girl gallery now and I can share with you all here. I am always bowled over by Wendy's kits, they really do make you think way outside of your comfort zone, but leave you very contented with the finished projects!

I rummaged through my dad's albums to find the few photos I have of him and his family. It was nice to scrap these photos.

Forgot to post my double layout class that I taught to the ladies at the weekend. Love these Sassafrass papers, and all the ladies layouts were amazing! Such amazing stories of belief and strength, and of family bonds.

My photos don't look like there is a story to be told, but there is.

Izzy wanted to do a photo shoot of me, of course I couldn't say no, after all the times i beg of her to smile for the camera. So Izzy takes my camera and starts snapping away. What had me giggling was all her actions and camera turning, it was a mini me!!!!
Here is another quick layout I did whilst away, using Pink Paislee Vintage Moon.

And this is a mini book I started using Crate Paper Sweet Branch

I am packing my kits for this weekend ATDML retreat, cannot wait to meet lots of familiar and new faces!
Thanks as always for stopping by
