Happy Halloween

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/31/2010 05:00:00 PM 1 lovely comments
I am usually full of Halloween fun and frolics, but not this year I am afraid. Its dull, raining and is tradition in this house Lilly is under the weather. I do have sweets for those that may call, but we have decided to give it a miss this year, I know I am such a scrooge! But in a more serious note, here in the Uk and more so in our small village, those that participate has become less and less and is more of a dissapointment to the children, and I am totally jealous that our friends across the pond do it in so much style!!!

I did scrap though today, and it was a Halloween layout and a mini book, but I have been unable to take a half decent photo due to the light, so will have to share tomorrow. I will also have a give away for you too!

In the meantime I have some Halloween kits available here if you need a cheap kit to scrap those spooky piccies! Scenic Route Salem papers, chipboard, stickers!

Dont forget Pencil Lines goes live tonight with a new sketch and guest designer.

If you are celebrating, enjoy!

My eldest daughter, my first born, my dear 10 year old girl, Izzy, is a "Wanna be Rock Chic". Loves the black and blue denim jean look, has her eye on mums (size 10, ) leather jacket that I really did wear one day, and you end up with a trip to a graffiti wall on the side of the A1 South Bound, armed with a Rock Band mike and mike stand and a set of drum sticks.

We had an absolute blast

These are just a few favs

Edited with lots of POP!

Is the inner Rock Chic in you wanting to come out and play? Then email me to book a fun mini session for details!
In fact these may have got me wanting to scrap again!!!

WW2 Evacuees

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/28/2010 10:57:00 PM 1 lovely comments
Last week, the girls both spent a day as WW2 evacuees, complete with gas mask box and name tag!
School dinners was representitive of a meal during WW2, (much to Izzy's dislike, the portions were too small LOL). The day started with some Vera Lynn, and the day ended with song and dance at the street party held in the hall; bunting flags and a buffet!

here is my "posh evacuee" (Izzy's words not mine)

and my French evacuee ( because she had a pink beret on!)

and here is one of both my little evacuees

A Trip Down Memory Lane

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/22/2010 08:29:00 PM 1 lovely comments
We got our new i MAC last weekend, and I love it! I am being a good girl and spending time organizing my folders. As many of my friends know, I am so disorganized and the same is of my desktop. So I am spending time making sure this computer keeps tidy. I currently hold 2007-2010 on my desktop ( as well as my external hard disc). I have spent the last few days strolling down memory lane, and boy has it been fun!

I am here

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/20/2010 10:35:00 PM 6 lovely comments
Sorry for the lack of blogging these last few days, life hasnt gone as planned, does it ever, LOL.
Monday I had a Dr's appointment and 30 minutes later, it was confirmed that I have Osteroarthritis in my right knee, right hand and neck. As you can imagine it wasnt something that settled with me easily, and I am still trying to work it out in my head. Medication that I take for the pain, knocks me out cold and the last few days I have needed to take my cocktail of meds to ease the pain in my knee.
Whilst I am coming to terms with my condition, if anyone has some tips on diet and exercise I would be most greatful!
I know I have to lose some weight to ease the load on my knee, but like all women, when I heard the news I did not reach out for an apple, but a packet of yums yums! That sure aint gonna help my problem now is it!!

So who joined in all the fun at the weekend over at Pencil Lines? A lot of inspiration and sketches can still be found over on the website. Deadline for layouts/cards is October 23rd 12pm GMT

I designed a new sketch, sketch 209 for our celebrations.
I used a photo of the girls from the summer, and used lots of Crate paper product.

Sketch 209

Layout - Love

Supplies : Crate Paper pattern papers , Crate Paper chipboard, Prima flowers, Dear Lizzy ribbon, Prima crystals

Work in Progress

With Halloween just around the corner and my Nikki Sivils Halloween papers screaming out to be used, I am going to make some fun projects. I also received my Such Sweet Tierney buttons to work with, and amongst them were some gorgeous Halloween coloured buttons and some skulls, oooooooo.

First things first, my studio needs a serious clear out and tidy up before I can even attempt to get a button out! Its seriously messy, which means I am seriously uninspired.

Lets hope for inspired stuff this weekend

Photos from Sunday's shoot

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/13/2010 11:26:00 PM 5 lovely comments
I had a great 2 hours on Sunday shooting a birthday party with eleven 13-14 year old girls!
Location was the kids playground and  alot of fun was had on slides and swings!

I am sharing a couple for now as sneaks. I hope you like them Ana.

The weather was gorgeous, but the sun was just a bit too bright for photographing in. So I went for a natural sun flare, and they turned out to be my favourite photos!(2nd photo) Love the retro feel of these; hope the birthday girl loves them too. I still have a couple of spaces left if you would like a mini photo shoot, before November 30th. Email me for details.

Today I have been busy in the kitchen making batches of soup for the freezer. My favourite flavours being Tomato and Basil soup, and Carrot and Coriander, yummy.
Do you have a  favourite soup flavour?

These colours are also inspiring fashion designers around the world, and also inspired the colours for my bedroom.

Here is this weeks colour combo:

How will you be inspired by these colours this week?

Have you used a colour combo from my Inspiration Monday posts? If you have please link me or email me your inspired project. I would love to share some of your ideas here on my blog.

Inspired by Purple and Lime, I made 2 layouts using Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage, although not strickly lime, the colours in the papers reminded me of my blackberry walks.

Exciting !

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/08/2010 07:09:00 PM 2 lovely comments
I bought my photography domain name last night. I am so excited to be finally taking this next step. After lots of research, courses, advice from fellow scrappers turned photographers, I have decided to take my "photo taking" a little bit more seriously from now on!
I am going to take the plunge to purchase my new site any day, and by the end of the year should have a brand new spanking photography site up and running!

I am now "official photographer" at the school I work LOL, and am actually getting to spend some time taking photos of the children in the school enviroment, which is something I have always believed in, and would love!. I have already had some lovely comments from the parents wanting the photos I have taken of their child! Over the following term I will be going round the whole school taking these kind of shots which will be displayed around the school.

Photos taken last week. Paint the Moon actions used

Sunday I have my first portrait party, for 10 14year olds and I am really excited! I am thinking urban chic/festival chic! Helium balloons, bubbles and party blowers will all be the order of the day, cannot wait!

Dont forget if you would like to book me for a mini session (details here), I have a special offer that ends on November 30th. I only have a few more slots available in October, so do contact me for availability.

Scrapbook Magazine

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/07/2010 07:41:00 AM 1 lovely comments
Whilst I battle with bad light to take photos in, I thought I would share a layout I had published in The Scrapbook Magazine issue 48.

Pretty simple design for me, but that gorgeous cardstock with the stitched borders had to be shown off!

Supplies : Little Yellow Bicycle, October Afternoon, American Crafts, LilliBee, Cosmo Cricket

Lilly has always picked my dandelions, thinking they are my favourite flower, why? well our old house had a small front garden only, and was always covered in dandelions! So Lilly, in her Lilly 2 year old wisdom, believed it was because I love them!! Still to this day I havnt got the heart to tell her otherwise, and to be honest, I think I have actually grown to love them....

Do you have a similar story to share, would love to hear.

1. Autumn Corn Nuggets - Fall Nature, 2. Pumpkin Cup-Pies, 3. soup, 4. leaves, 5. The famous Fly Mushroom, 6. Green apple, 7. Pumpkin Ale, 8. Heirloom Pumpkins, 9. Autumn leaves

Catch Up

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/03/2010 09:00:00 PM 2 lovely comments
Do you have those weekends where all you want/need to do is close the curtains , lock the doors and have some family time curled up on the sofa?
Well this weekend has kinda been one of those for us. We have been out and about, but in general its been movies, cuddles and comfort food all weekend!
The weather is horrid here in the UK. Gale force winds, rain and cold one minute warm the next!
The girls spent Sarurday night at nana's, and we had Mel and Mike round for a Mexican meal, The Inbetweeners, Rock Band and 1 too many drinks! So I do have to admit that a lazy comfirt day today was very much needed!

Carrying on from my last post, here are a couple of photos I took of the girls, my reluctant models!
I can only load this one of Lilly at the moment. Anyone else having blogger problems uploaidng photos?

Pencil Lines sketch 207 is live with Tamar, the owner of Tarisota; a gorgeous craft site full of inspiration and vintage finds.
Hope you had a lovely weekend. Tomorrow I will be back with Inspiration Monday and some layouts from a previous Inspiration colour combo.
