Pumpkin Fun and Photo Shoot

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/29/2008 09:31:00 PM 8 lovely comments
Yes its that time of year, half term and our annual outing to Willow Farm with Sue and family. Although I have to confess the patch was not as abundant as last year, and my two are not as willing or as cute as last year, but we still have photos, even if Izzy is practising being Britain's next Top Model!

I love the bunting they put up at Willow Farm.

And what is it about the glowing orange of pumpkins thats makes you feel all warm and happy!

Panning for gold!

One happy Sue!

I am more than half way through editing 6 batches of photos, only 2 more family shoots to edit now.
Had lots of fun as always with Helen, Thomas and Ross. This year Ian was able to join us and I am in awe of the love these 2 have for each other, just so wonderful!

Tomorrow I am putting on a Halloween party for the village. I have sold 18 tickets, and lots of mums have rallied round with festive food and decorations. Off to decorate the village hall tomorrow afternoon, and do some baking, pumpkin carving and start making some ghoulish games of cold food! I have find a fantastic scary Halloween story made up of body parts that you pass around. How about some intestines ( cold spaghetti). or how about some eyes (olives!), hehehehe, cannot wait!

I am off to finish some DT work, watch The Family and head to bed!
By the way, I have updated my photo blog, with more photos from the past weeks photo shoots

Thanks as always for stopping by

Crazy Busy week....

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/26/2008 07:59:00 PM 7 lovely comments
Seriously, it has been crazy busy, and I am not sure where to even start! I guess at the beginning is always a good one, LOL.

Monday I had my package from Newcastle to collect from Peterborough, my best friend and godmother to Lilly, Karen. We have been friends since I landed back in the UK nearly 13 years ago, and we have been through everything together, and I mean everything! From girlie chats about my new boyfriend (now hubby, lol) , moving house, eating Chinese off a cardboard box,to secret engagement party, wedding planner, huge shoulder to cry on and absolute confident! I love her to bits, and Lilly thinks she all lovely and soft when you cuddle her..... How perfect is that!

Tuesday, I headed off to the hairdressers and had what was a drastic re style for me, I had my fringe cut back in, really not sure if i like it, but time will tell. Karen on the other hand, chose to stand and iron for 3 hours!!!! Peter now loves her even more, as she ironed 13 of his shirts, and has now offered Karen a paid trip to Southoe every 3 weeks!

Wednesday Sue came over and both Karen and Sue helped pack kits to the songs of Mama Mia. We had a blast! Then we went for a scrummy lunch at the local bistro. Three courses later, and happily stuffed we did a quick group photo before taking Sue back to the station.

Thursday, Karen packed to go back home, and I was came back home to start editing lots and lots of photo's from Sundays day of shooting.

Here are a few photos from last weekend, do check out my photo blog for more. I have three more shoots to edit,s o lots more to share of gorgeous families and cute kids!

I was GDT over at A Million Memories. Really love Michelle kits, so was very happy when she asked me to guest for her this month. Here are my projects.

This week is half term for the girls and we have a fun packed week in store. Pumpkin Farm visit tomorrow, Wednesday we meet the Hafermanns, Thursday I am planning the village Halloween party, and in between all that I am still editing photos and waiting patiently for my November Bad Girl Kit!

Bad Girls top designer contest comes to an end, and the Top Designer 2008 will be announced this week. The standard this year has been amazing and so inspiring.

Sunday it is the Scrapping Angels Christmas workshop, so I am finalising everything for a festive day!
Pencil Lines went live last night, with Scenic Route sponsoring the DT and a fab Japanese artist, so do check us out.

I used the new Sonoma Line by Scenic Route and the Little Princess stickers, which i am in love with! And for all you digi scrappers, we now have FREE digi templates of our sketches which the talented Michelle Filo is providing for us!

I am off to start getting into the Christmas spirit, with lots of festive DT projects to do for Bad Girls, Scrapping Angels and Easy Craft Projects

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, and i will honestly try and update more this week. Hey, I will have lots of pumpkin photos to share tomorrow, hehehehe.

Hugs

Boy what a rollercoaster!

Regular blog readers would have followed my concerns and anguish over a lump that I found. Well after my post last week saying everything was A OK, I got a call from the hospital Monday afternoon, asking em to come back, sooner than later! Jeez, are you kidding, i thought all was OK??? So I rang Peter, he arranged a day of work, and Monday through to Wednesday morning has been a blur, tbh. I didn't know what to think, even though I am fit and well, no pain, everything was OK so whats the sudden change in diagnosis!? Trouble is , even knowing all the positive that tiny bit of doubt clouds any good doesn't it!
So we turn up at the hospital, nice and early. We are shown to a large dark room, same doctor. The fear must have been written all over our faces. the DR questions this. And it becomes apparent that i was called in, as the first scan was not clear enough for my Dr to read. Unfortunately the receptionist chose not to make this critical piece of information apparent! We were given lots of apologizes for anxiety caused.
Phew.... so nothing has changed. My lump is 51/2cm in width x 2cm high, is benign, and I will be operate on to have it removed.
Peter and I left the hospital with a skip in our step, and a huge sense of relief. What does one do with such good news?, we go eat Pizza and drink wine, LOL.

Due to my crazy emotional week, my DT duties got put on the back burner. At last I have managed to complete my projects as guest designer for A Million Memories.

I have a fun packed Sunday. I am heading over to Bury St Edmunds where I have 4 family photo shoots to do. I cannot wait. The weather forecast is dry and sunny, Abbey gardens is a beautiful location, what more could I ask for. You have until the end of October to book your family shoot with me for only £25.00. Details here.

What are you up too on November 2nd? Free? Fancy joining Annie and myself for a fun packed, inspiring day of class at Buckden Community Center, for a mere £65.00? You do! Get yourself over here quick, as I really do only have a couple of places left. And if you fancy cropping only, send me an email.
OK that's me done for today. Have a lovely weekend

Swindon and Pencil Lines

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/14/2008 11:32:00 AM 5 lovely comments
It's been a hectic and manic weekend. Friday I packed my bags and headed down to Swindon to teach at the Abbey Meads Workshop with Sandie. I arrived lunch time and we headed out for a spot of shopping, well it just has to be done! Sandie's little girl Hannah came with us, and was happy to show me all the best aisles at The Range, all scrapping related I might add. Sandie has her well trained.

Saturday we were up early to head over to the workshop. Stopped by Tesco's for a chocolate croissant first, we needed some substance, hehehe.

24 eager ladies were waiting for us and the day went by without any hiccups. It was Sandie's first teaching spot, and she is a natural! So if you are looking for a new and exciting teacher, Sandie's your gal!

I taught a layered and my usual distressed looking layout with some Sassafrass, and a star book using We R Memory Keepers. I really do love star books, and have made many as gifts, don't give the star book the elbow just because it was all the rage a few years back... I say bring back the Star Book!.

We had a charity raffle in aid of Cancer Research UK, and we raised a whopping £178.00!!! So a HUGE thank you to all of the ladies for their generosity, and also to the fabulous UK and US stores and magazines who donated goodies.

Thank you Ali and Trudy for having me, and to all the ladies for making me feel so welcome.

The day ended at 6pm, I dropped Sandie back home, grabbed a cuddle from Hannah and headed back home.

Sunday was a lazy day, the perfect Sundays don't you think. Lilly and I did some jewellery making (photos to follow this week), whilst Izzy was out playing with friends. Having this face to look at everyday makes me smile, makes me happy.

Izzy looked so grown up today, 36 hours away , and she seems all mature and grown up. This face makes me proud!

This weekend was another Pencil Lines milestone. We are 2 years old! This weekend our guest designer was the girls from One Little World. I was so excited as we were guest for OLW this week also. Do pop on over and check out all the amazing inspiration.

I am busy finalising classes for the Christmas workshop, (places still available)and my classes for ATDML.

Hope everyone is well and had a great weekend. Thank you all for your well wishes.

Tears of ......

Joy, and complete relief! The "lump" is about 5cm big and is benign. I am waiting to have an operation to remove it now, but everything is OK. It is a huge relief, and I have spent the best part of the last 24hours crying. Silly I know, but i have been on such an emotional roller coaster these past weeks, and it is pretty much all over.

I can now look forward to the weekend teaching in Swindon. I am just finishing off a few things before Peter and I settle in front of the TV with the largest bar of galaxy i have ever seen!! and a DVD, "Bucket List". Apparently Peter said I should get all my tears out in true style, bless him.

Have a wonderful weekend, don't forget to pop by Pencil Lines this weekend :)

Huge hugs and thank you's to you all

Nervous.......

blogged by me domestic goddess On 10/08/2008 08:55:00 AM 15 lovely comments
I am not one to pour my heart and soul about my most inner thoughts here very often. It takes a lot to rile me in public, hence why a lot of "people" think i live a perfect life, far from it.....
Today, any signs of normality are thrown out of the window as I am heading of to hospital again for an ultra scan to see what this lump is. I know the "breast" doctor assured me that it is very likely to be benign. BUT, he still wants to do a scan and possibly a biopsy, today i am guessing i will know. So whats all the fuss about?, why am i scared?. I am one of the lucky ones surely? I am still so nervous. this lump is the size of a Malteser, it is smooth and not irregular which I know is a good sign, but still I have this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I am going alone to the hospital, my choice completely. I have had offers from my dear friends to come with me, I decided to go it alone, LOL.

I am off this afternoon, the girls are in the after school club and hopefully Peter will be back early today from work. He has the biggest meeting of his career to date, today, and there was no way on earth, was i going to ask him to come with me. Hopefully this meeting will not take all day and he will be home sharp so i can be comforted in his arms.

Back to normality..... I am packing kits and finalising class notes for this weekends workshop i am teaching at in Swindon. Really looking forward to meeting lots of new faces , and a couple of familiar ones * waves to Jacqui". I am heading to Swindon Friday and staying with Sandie, cannot wait!!

Finally, a sneak of this weeks Pencil Lines layout. Do not forget to pop by this weekend. Its our 2nd anniversary and we have an announcement to make!!

Hugs all, and thanks for stopping by.

PS: go do a breast check.......

Boy its cold, its bloomin freezing here! We woke up to ground frost and condensation on the windows this morning. Sorry hun, but i did have to put the heating on for a wee hour this morning.........

Another busy weekend has just passed us. Peter rang me on the way home Friday night, to let me know that Nana was having the girls Saturday night and that we were off to a Memorial Concert at Buckden. Money was raise din memory of a young lad who passed away a few months ago from a brain tumour. Friends and family put together a concert to raise money for Addenbrookes Hospital. It is such a small world, as we knew 2 of the band members, so I ended up as the press photographer for the night, and sober! We had a brilliant night, and it confirmed our love for live music. A very late night was had, we got back home at 3am!

We picked the girls up lunch time, Sunday from Mums and headed home. We did have plans to make it to the Village Harvest supper, but i spent the afternoon feeling quite unwell, with stomach pains :(. the girls were very tired as well and I wanted them in bed early for school.

My classes are all finished for the coming weekend. Really looking forward to heading down to Swindon to meet all the Abbey Meads croppers! This is a sneak of my class 2 for the ladies....

Another busy week, finishing off projects. I am guest designer over at A Million Memories this month, and I have a very pretty kit to play with from Indigo Mill for Easy Craft Projects.
Pencil Lines is 2 this weekend and we have a fantastic collaboration in store!

Go check out this weeks sketch and gdt, Anna Aspnes.
