Update!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 8/29/2008 10:01:00 PM 4 lovely comments
Boy what a busy week, but having lots of fun. Wednesday was spent in Swindon with Sandie and her family. I met Sandies hubby for the first time, and he is an absolute gem! He waited on us hand and foot and even managed a smile for the camera, which I believe is a rarity!.

In the afternoon we headed to Millets Farm, where Lilly became friends with a sheep, and we met a couple of caterpillars, oh , and also ate the largest pieces of cake I have ever seen. I believe Sandie , or more precise Richard, has evidence of this! Sandies mum, Julia was there too, and it was so lovely to meet her again

Thursday was a mixed day of emotions, received some good news and some not so good. A referral to the hospital will hopefully turn the not so good into good news, only time will tell, lots of positive vibes please :)

Today has been spent finishing of my Bad Girls Kit creations. OMG, I adore this kit. Full of funky AC and Hambly, lots of the usual vintage finds that Wendy throws in the pot to mix things up a bit. Here's a sneak peek to keep you going, more teasers tomorrow!.

Talking of Bad Girls, Top Designer 2008 is about to start, and sign ups have begun. I took part last year and was delighted to be the 1st runner up, now I am so honoured to actually be part of this wonderful team of talented designers.

Over $650 worth of scrap goodies are up for grabs as well as the coveted title of Top Designer 2008!!!! You have nothing to loose, so g0 sign up now.

As well as crafting, we had the Annie, Addie and Dean visit for the day. Addie is still teh cutest little thing you could meet, and Dean is just handsome and charming, and Annie,..... well Annie is Annie, just amazing! And yes I took literally hundreds of photos of Addie and the dandelions, she had the perfect dress on!

This afternoon, whilst i was sticking and cutting, and the girls were out playing with friends, i heard a frantic knock on the door, it was Lilly telling me to come quick, (armed with camera of course!)she had seen a hedgehog and it looked poorly. Well it sure was, poor thing. WE got a box, check the Hedgehog Preservation Society website and made it a bed, popped some water into his box as well as a towel to keep him/her warm. "IT" was swiftly named Katie, and a phone call to the HPS told me that I needed to take Katie to the vets, which we did, where she will be looked after and collected by the HPS tomorrow morning.

This weekend, is another busy one. Peters brother turns 50, and we have lots to do!!! Party Party Party!!!! Talking of parties, you must check out this weeks Pencil Lines, its our 100th sketch!! We have a fantastic guest designer, as we do every week, and a fab prize up for grabs, so pop a note in your calender to pop by.
Thanks for stopping by

Where in the world has the last week gone? The girls are back at school a week today, and there is still so much to squeeze in

banner class

Wednesday - visit Sandie
Thursday - hair cuts and new shoes
Friday - Annie visiting, cinema with sue
Saturday - 50th party at our house to prepare for
Sunday - clean house!
Monday - school checklist

also need to squeeze in my Pencil Lines layout for sketch 100, can you believe it! and my Bad Girls kit has arrived and I am itching to get scrapping.

Pencil Lines 99

This weeks Pencil Lines, was sponsored by the gorgeous Jenni Bowlin. I love her vintage embellishments and papers, so it was an absolute dream to work with. I cut out the butterflies form the pattern paper and adhered with a thin strip of 3d foam, and bent their wings up.

So the last week I have been painting, cleaning and having a general sort out for the arrival of my dearest friend of 14 years , Karen and her hubby Kevin. The paint was dry just in time for their arrival Friday night. Rock Band and beers made an appearance, and a fab night was had by all.

Me and Karen

We woke up bright and early, Ok, so I didn't, but the rest of the house did!, and I prepared a picnic for our visit to Woburn Safari Park. A first for us all, and oh my, I so enjoyed it there. I want a job as a keeper now, LOL. I completely fell in love with this Zebra and this cute monkey!

The Safari Park is a fab day out, so much to see and do, we have return passes to visit again, free, by the end of October. A definite for the half term with Nana I reckon.
Saturday night, Karen and I made sure all the kits were packed and everything was ready for Sunday s classes. Scrapping Angels Summer workshop went down really well with everyone. I love teaching and seeing everyones layouts and projects that they made during the day.

Sara and I

Sue and I

It was lovely to see new and old faces, and I have made a date to go to a crop, thats not mine in September!!! How exciting is that. I am off to Colemans on the 14th September, for a full day of cropping. I cannot not have done it without all the hard work Sue puts in the day and a huge thank you to Karen who was supposed to be doing classes but spent the day in the kitchen with Sue. More thanks go to Sara for her helping clearing up at the end of the day,and to all those who sponsored me for my MS Race, thanks ladies xxx
Monday was a lazy day, cooked breakfast to start the day off, then i started cooking a fancy beef casserole and another lemon cake for Karen and Kevin to take home, for some reason the left overs never made it back to the house from Sunday!!!!
Karen and Kevin left early evening, and i crashed in front of the TV to watch Mario propose to Lisa on BB!! What an end to a fantastic weekend!
I hope everyone had a lovely bank holiday, i am still recuperating from my week, LOL
Thanks for stopping by, I will get round to some blog surfing soon, honest!

By the way, if you live locally to me, East Anglia/ Cambridgeshire, go check this out!

I have nothing else to share really, i am covered in splatters of paint, Izzy has got a friend over for a sleepover and Lilly, well, she is just Lilly!

Catch up tomorrow with funky wallpaper photos, and the final sneak of Sundays classes!

Charity Run

blogged by me domestic goddess On 8/18/2008 09:06:00 PM 5 lovely comments

its that time of year again, I am training for the 5K charity run in London, in memory of my Dad who sadly passed away after a 15 year battle with MS on September 15th 2006. Many regular readers will remember the summer of 2006 , and what a difficult time it was for me. I think of my Dad every day, miss him everyday, and love him more and more each day.

This year my charity run is on September 7th, and I am asking my dear blogger friends if you can spare a few pennies and donate to my Just Giving fundraising page. Last year I raised £1500/$3000, and I hope to raise the same again this year.
Thank you all in advance

Elton Hall

Girls Aloud in concert, they were awful live. Maybe i have been spoilt this year having seen Mark Ronson and Foo Fighters live, who were both awesome. OK so I will admit I wasn't seeing them for me , but for Izzy mainly, and yes she had a great time.

yo, whats going down?

Lilly was so tired as we waited 3 hours before they even came on. As you can imagine, alot of very tired girls were waiting for their idols to arrive. They came on stage at 9.45pm, sang 2 songs, then walked off as their mikes suddenly stopped working when they had to talk! Eventually came back on after 10 minutes, we stayed for a few more songs then left at 10.30pm. Too long a night. But after all my moaning, I think from these photos you can see a good time was had, prior to Girls Aloud arriving.
dancing to Neo from the Streets

awwww

what sort of smile is this!!

Pencil Lines went live this evening, do check us out. I need to retake my photos, the light was poor, and will upload tomorrow.
We are off for a night in the tent, aaarrggg, as a practise run in the garden, lol

Hope you all had a fab weekend

we are off to see....

Girls Aloud later today!! Its an outside venue at Elton Hall in Peterborough. The girls are really excited as well as Peter!. I will be armed with my camera, hoping to grab some piccies.

In the meantime I have been working hard on classes for the next few weeks. Cosmo Cricket goodness arrived yesterday, and i cannot wait to get creating with the black board books and Hello Sunshine line of papers.

I had happy post today when my Jenni Bowlin Kit arrived. Such a pretty kit of summery, vintage delights.
Last week when i was in Stevenage, Sue took me to Primark where I purchased a couple of bargains, this being one of them. i adore the vintage feel of the lace and buttons, I am in love with this dress at the moment.

The vegetable patch is coming along slowly, we have signs of cucumbers and peppers, the tomatoes are green still though. the lettuces have been a roaring success, i love going out to the garden to pick a lettuce for lunch :), I know I am so easily pleased.

I am off to spruce up for tonight, hope you all have a lovely weekend. Peter is on a weeks holiday now, and we are threatening to go on our first camping trip next week!!

Hafermann Happiness

blogged by me domestic goddess On 8/13/2008 06:09:00 PM 5 lovely comments

A day spent with the Hafermann family always leaves me smiling and happy. Today was no exception. We all met up for lunch and then a few games of bowling, a bit of shopping and a visit to the playground. The wind and rain did not spoil our fun. Of course i had to take the group photo to compare last years! They have just got to be the coolest kids in town!!

And here are a few sneak peeks of my mini book class that I will be teaching at Moxley and Scrapping Angels Summer workshop.

Hope you all had a great day, and thanks for stopping by

Monday Monday

so good to me..... It has been so far, LOL. Had a good tidy up today and a massive sort out of the children's play area, another 2 large bin bags full of junk to be binned, hooray!!!

Then i have cracked on designing classes for the Moxley workshop and Scrapping Angels Summer workshop. I completed this layout (sneak peek only) using the gorgeous Jenni Bowlin papers, some Prima edging, Lil Davis sparkly title and butterflies! This is a really soft and feminine layout.

I am now working on a cute "All about me" or "All About Someone" mini book using some Love Elsie Zoe papers, and KI Memories taglines. This is going to be a shabby and distressed book.
Pencil Lines went live last night. I used the new We R Memory Keepers paper line, and Cherry Arte chipboard, which I love! Decided to do another layout straight after , LOL.
I turned the sketch and used multiple photos of Lilly at Sports day. I used a story board to plan my photos in photoshop.

My second layout is of Izzy in her last infants Sports Day, again using the funky We R Memory Keepers papers :). I outlined the flowers and doodled.

The weather has not improved here in the UK, so the girls and I have been crafting and doing some sewing practise .

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend. Thanks as always for stopping by
