Talking of Bad Girls, my November layouts are up on the Bad Girl gallery now and I can share with you all here. I am always bowled over by Wendy's kits, they really do make you think way outside of your comfort zone, but leave you very contented with the finished projects!

I rummaged through my dad's albums to find the few photos I have of him and his family. It was nice to scrap these photos.

Forgot to post my double layout class that I taught to the ladies at the weekend. Love these Sassafrass papers, and all the ladies layouts were amazing! Such amazing stories of belief and strength, and of family bonds.

My photos don't look like there is a story to be told, but there is.

Izzy wanted to do a photo shoot of me, of course I couldn't say no, after all the times i beg of her to smile for the camera. So Izzy takes my camera and starts snapping away. What had me giggling was all her actions and camera turning, it was a mini me!!!!
Here is another quick layout I did whilst away, using Pink Paislee Vintage Moon.

And this is a mini book I started using Crate Paper Sweet Branch

I am packing my kits for this weekend ATDML retreat, cannot wait to meet lots of familiar and new faces!
Thanks as always for stopping by

365'ers do it in Oxford!!

And did we have a good time or what!

I am always a little nervous meeting people for the first time, but as I walked into teh toom in Oxford at the David Lloyd Center at 11.40am, I was greeted with 12 lovely smiles and outstretched arms, lots of kisses and hugs!, and felt as if I had known these woman for ages. I came away at the end of the weekend with 12 wonderful friends, a wealth of inspiration from such a talented bunch, learnt to crochet, although I am useless, and I also played with stamps and felt tip pens (posh ones!), as well as eat and drink very well, hehehehe. I received a "gorgeous" badge from Shirley, and a lovely miniature rose from all the ladies.

Scrappers in action!

Ali, taking a photo of me, LOL

To, Shirl, Lynne, Sarah, Ali, Mary, Kath, Kay, Sally, Steph, Barbara, Paula, and Claire, thank you from the bottom of my heart for a weekend, I will not forget!

Pinched from our 365 weekend flickr group!

thank you Shirley for this photo

Getting all emotional by the beautiful words you ladies wrote

Sunday was Remembrance Day here in the UK, and I was glad to be part of a service in Oxford. Shirley and I popped outside from shopping at Stamp Addict, to walk with the possession and take part in the 2 minute silence.

After all my excitement from the weekend, Pencil Lines went live last night. Love this sketch by Cecile Lundstad. I used my Bad Girl Vintage Treasures kit (November's) and a wedding photo of me, teh Bride! First wedding photo I have scrapped , and it has given me the bug to start thinking about scrapping my wedding album in 2009.

Has anyone scrapped an album of their wedding? would love to see how you went about it.

I have had Izzy of school today. She was exhausted this morning, so the pair of us had a "duvet" day and watched a DVD whilst making felt tree decorations.... more of that this week!

I am tired from the weekend, and still have a few bits to do for my classes I am teaching at ATDML. I hear my classes are full, and am really looking forward to meeting familiar and new faces.

Finally , the winner of my RAK is (the number generator chose) "12"
Lucky reader is JENNYAP

Jenny please email me your address so I can post out your kit.
As always thanks for stopping by

Santa Baby.....

Why the Christmas title you may ask?? Well I forgot to tell you yesterday a story. Are you all sitting comfortably.

The other day Lilly told me that it was nearly Christmas.

  • " I must make my Christmas cards and write a letter to Santa Mummy", Lilly squealed with delight.
  • "OK darling" Mummy gets down her Christmas craft box to start making cards. Mummy heads back to the computer where she is watching Obama's victory speech on the computer. 15 minutes later, a happy Lilly arrives in the office.
  • "Mummy I have finished my card and put it into the envelope."
  • Mummy checks the envelope and the very neat and large writing to Santa. "Lovely Lilly, well done" Says Mummy.
  • Mummy looks again, something doesn't look quite right?!

Can you spot the mistake?

Lilly loves Satan!!! Bless her.......

Whilst I am away teaching and playing with the UKS 365 ladies, I thought I would do a blog giveaway for one of the classes I am teaching. I will also pop some stamps in as well :)

Just leave a comment on my blog and I will do a random draw on Monday

It's the weekend, and I have finished my Bad Girl November Kit DT projects, I am off to Oxford to meet the 365er's from UKS and teaching a class, and I have just got back from a firework display at Buckden Marina, all is well.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing with this months Bad Girls kit, "Vintage Treasures". It has been the perfect kit to scrap photos of my dad as a young lad. I have also scrapped a wedding photo of me! and one of the girls (surprise surprise) I am really pleased with how my layouts turned out. Here are a few more sneaks. Will show you my layouts in full once they have been uploaded to the Bad Girls gallery.

We all headed down to the Marina for the firework display, and feasted on Roast Hog rolls, whilst huddled around the bonfire. I really love firework night, I think it's all so magical, especially the sparklers, which i cannot believe i forgot to buy :(.

The girls are exhausted and tucked up in bed. I am off to pack for the weekend, as ever totally organized am I, NOT!

Midweek Madness

blogged by me domestic goddess On 11/05/2008 10:45:00 PM 8 lovely comments

Firstly, I am so overwhelmed by my own reaction of the US Presidential election. I actually stayed up half the night to watch the results come in. This morning, Peter woke me to let me know that Barack Obama, is to be the 44th US President, I cried tears of joy. I am so happy to see a man full of so much charisma and enthusiasm make it to the White House, as well as Obama being the first Black African American to become President, what an amazing moment, not just in US history, but world history.
If you have not yet seen Barack Obama's victory speech, then I strongly suggest you find 17 minutes to watch it now......

Today I have been busy in my studio creating with my November Bad Girls kit. I am late I know, but I only received my kit on Friday and was teaching at the weekend. Vintage Treasures, is exactly what it says, full of gorgeous vintage finds, 7 Gypsies papers and some Mellisa Frances vintage goodies. I scanned some of my Dad's old pictures of him as a boy with his family. Although I am vary vague on dates and have very little if any background stories to the photos, it has been so good to scrap, and in time I will fill in the gaps.

I have also started a little sewing project. Not my best creative piece, but I have had fun. One of my little projects is winging it's way as a gift to Sue who is feeling blue, and the others will be going in my studio for a future holiday, any guesses yet?! a little tutorial will be finding its way here next week! So keep tuned.

I have decided to give my blog a little face lift over the next few weeks, and this will start today with an email subscription for updates. Thanks to Annie who has just staretd this on her blog, and who is the worst blogger I know!! Sorry hun, but you really are, LOL. I know I am catching up fast with you, but hey 2 posts in as many days is pretty darn good for me these days!
If you want top be notified of updates then just fill in your email addy in the box and the wonders of technology will do the rest! (mmmm, it seems my blog does not have a feed, any techies out there able to help?)

That's me done for tonight, I am off to bed!

Its all go......

OK, so trying to find the time to update my blog, is proving impossible! Last week was hectic, the girls were on half term and we did not stop!
  • Pumpkin farm on Tuesday
  • Wednesday , HSM3 and dinner at F&B's ( bloomin brilliant!)
  • Organising Halloween party for 30 kids! (am i bonkers!)
  • Garage, haircuts, Halloween
  • Final packing for Christmas workshop, Sandie arrive
  • Christmas Workshop
  • Paper work, paper work, writing cheques, playing catch up

and at last my Bad Girls kit arrived Friday. Cannot wait to start playing with my kit. In the meantime do pop on over as Novembers kit has gone live with the DT gallery. If you love Vintage, you will just fall in love with this months kit!

Thursday's Halloween Party went really well. After my initial fear that we had only sold 2 tickets on monday, by Thursday afternoon, 30 tickets had been sold. The party was a success and I carved my first pumpkin as well!!! Dead chuffed with my witch.

Izzy was a devil for both the party and trick or treat night. Lilly was a cowgirl for the party and a cat for trick or treat.

The Christmas workshop was a success and a lot of fun. Annie taught 2 wonderful classes, of which I am hoping to find the time to do this month! I taught a simple layout class and a Christmas Journal/Recipe book, using Love Elsie Noel range. I am so pleased I did this as a class. i now have my December journal all decorated, just waiting on photos! Miracle, I am ahead on one thing!

Pencil Lines went live with Sassy Sasha as our guest designer. Unfortunately time was not on my side and I was unable to play along. The DT have come up trumps again this week with lots of inspiration. And if you are a digi fan, check out the FREE digi template that Michelle has provided from this weeks sketch.

So what does this week have in store for me;

  • Bad Girls DT work
  • Christmas projects for ECP ( still behind on this)
  • Take car in for MOT
  • Pencil Lines layout
  • Class layout for 365 weekend
  • Hospital appt Thursday
  • Pack for 365 weekend
  • Bonfire party Friday

I think that's it as of today! Am I the only one who seems to be chasing my tale at the moment? Please let me in on any helpful tips to keep organized and stress free, LOL

I will be glued to the news today and tomorrow, waiting on the US election results. I am so rooting for Barrack Obama, and really do hope he wins. From what I hear it sounds like he will :)
Thanks as always for stopping by
