Homemade Christmas

blogged by me domestic goddess On 12/09/2009 11:08:00 PM
I love the idea of making homemade gifts each year, and whilst I watch "Kirsty's homemade Christmas", I am warming to the idea more and more. But my only problem is time... Oh to have more on my side! I don't finish work until next Friday, and this weekend we are away. So whilst I dream of making homemade sweets, chutneys and soaps for my hampers, and handmade crayons for my kids at school, simple white embossed Christmas cards for 80, I think reality is likely this will not be happening this year...but this is me talking, and you can never be quite sure what will take my fancy tomorrow, LOL
Do you have any handmade gift ideas to share?

Tune in tomorrow for nativity plays with an alien twist, (what will they think off next!), and maybe some handmade gifts.
Thanks for stopping by

I am adoring Kirstie's program too and so far am doing okay - handmade cards are done, the 28 bags of rocky road reindeer poop are made - love the idea of the crayons though :)

I LOVE the idea of handmade gifts, but I guess to accomplish this you really do have to start early! I'll have to catch up with Kirsties homemade christmas as I forgot it was on.

My nephew was an alien in his nativity play!

Well the homemade jam & chutney are done & have been mellowing in the garage since the autumn, but the trouble with making homemade yummy goodies is that they always have to be last minute otherwise they go stale!

So this weeks to do list includes peppermint creams, snowflake cookies and cranberry & orange sauce.

Oh and my tip for sort of homemade gifts - fill kilner jars with the dry ingredients for choc chip cookies, attach a label with the additional wet ingredients needed and the method, tie on with ribbon and voila, a homemade gift in a reusable jar. Perfect!
