International Day

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/30/2007 12:36:00 PM 3 lovely comments
Izzy's school was a riot of colour as they celebrated International week with a bang!!!
each class represent a country and the school lunch money represented most of the countries signature dishes!!!
Izzy was Uganda and we made a dress and head wrap out of an old duvet, well i only find out the day before they had to dress up!!!!

Izzy's teachers looked so the part, in traditional dress. There was Italy, Spain, Sri Lanka, America, France, China, Kenya to name a few. The school was decked with flags of each country and the children put on a show with dance, music and poetry.
I spent the day driving back and forth up the motorway and ended the day in bed by 9pm with the most horrendous Migraine!

We are all off very shortly to spend the weekend at Annie and Spikes for Deans birthday. I have a cheesecake all baked and ready to be eaten, just need to have a quick shower and chuck some clothes in a bag!!!

Don't forget tomorrow night is sketch night over at Pencil Lines, here's a peak at mine.

Also July's Scrapping Angels kit has gone up for general sale!!!
have a great weekend

Sushi and Baking

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/28/2007 04:35:00 PM 2 lovely comments
two of my favourite things that don't use paper!!
Well i say that but i have photographed both as you can see, and I will scrap both, lol .
My favourite food of all time is Japanese. I was lucky to have been introduced to the finest Japaneses food in Hong Kong when i was working out there. I was on a business dinner and we went for Japanese, i have been hooked ever since. Peter and I make sushi for dinner parties, not that we have many now!!! but it has been known. Also when in LA i took myself to a Japanese bar for lunch in Santa Monica and my dishes were mouthwatering and an art form. That's what I love about Japanese food and Sushi in particular, it is art on a plate!

I have a real fond love for all things Asian. Having lived in Honk Kong for 4 years I got a real taste for all things Asian. My favourite Interior Designer is Kelly Hoppen, East Meets West fame. My decor is very influenced by her style. I collect Japanese and Chinese artefact's and have a beautiful collection of Netsukes

(The art of Netsuke is a form of miniature sculpture which developed in Japan over a period of more than 300 years. Netsuke were both practical and decorative. The traditional form of Japanese dress, had no pockets. Men suspended their tobacco pouches, pipes, purses or writing implements, on a silk cord, from their obi (sash). These hanging objects are called sagemono. To stop the cord from slipping through the obi, a small toggle was attached. The toggle is called Netsuke.)

My other love is Kimonos, and i have a beautiful silk Kimono that used to hang on the wall in our old house, unfortunately It is folded away at the moment waiting for a new home!

Today's collection is Momiji dolls. I adore these little beauties, and have a few in my collection now. I have a mini book all planed as Izzy has done some beautiful drawings of them also that i want to add to my mini book, AND i have just purchased Momiji stickers!!! I never thought I would be using stickers on anything i scrapped but these little finds will be scrapped!!
Back to the Baking. Lilly and i baked some cupcakes this afternoon and I turned a few of them into mini Victoria Sponges. How cute are these.

I am off to get my girls ready for swimming, well Izzy only as Lilly still has her ear infection , poor thing. And then home to make traditional Uganda dress!!!!!! Don't ask.................

Projects to share

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/27/2007 10:34:00 AM 9 lovely comments
I have been working on projects for a couple of websites recently. I made this Maya Road flower book for A Trip Down Memory Lane, titled Journey to Happiness. You can download full instructions from ATDML. I loved decorating this little book. I filled it with quotes and things that make me happy. it sits on a shelf in my scrap room for me to pick up any time i need some "happy thoughts" sent my way. Decorated with all the things that make me happy, flowers, ribbons and buttons!!!!.

The other project I did for ATDML, was this "Never ending Card", titled "Love". This is a fun card that has endless possibilities for decorating and themeing.

I have also been designing some exclusive projects for Lisa at Easy Craft Projects

Here's a sneak peak of the first project titled "Picture Perfect".

I seem to be working on lots of projects at the moment. I am still finishing up my travel book using this months Scrapping Angels Beyond the Page kit. The Tinkering Inks paper are so bright and funky and seem the perfect choice for my travel album recording my trip to LA this year

I am also working on the classes for the Christmas Workshop in November. I am holding a 4 class workshop and also an all day crop with Annie. As always alot of inspirational ideas and projects will be taught on the day as well as good company and lots of fun.

I am working on the schedule for next years Scrapping Angels retreat which is already over half full!!!! Next years will be just as much fun with 4 wonderful and talented teachers on board of which Annie and myself will be 2 of them ;)

So many ladies wanted to do a class with me this year and i wasnt teaching, so have decided to get my teaching head on and join the fun in the classroom and spread some Anna love!!!!

I hope you will be joining us. Remember I am taking a GBP25 non refundable deposit now to secure your place :

The sun is shining i am off to pick Lilly up from playschool with a friend she is having over to play.
Have a great Hump Day ( this always has me in fits!!!!!)

Thank you 2Peas!!!!!

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/26/2007 01:49:00 PM 13 lovely comments

OMGG my layout SAWK has been chose as Featured Layout of the Day over at 2Peas. I was on the phone to Annie and logged on as I do most mornings and there was Lilly and Peter starring out at me!!!! I was flabbergasted as Annie can surely testify.

Tried phoning Sue to tell her my good news only to be left with the answer phone to talk too.

I am so happy today, and not just because of 2 peas, but because of the Love over at SIStv. I so love this place. Everyone is super nice. We do a POTD post over at SIStv and i always like to upload something funny and cute. I uploaded this photo of Lilly last week and Lucy had commented how she would love to scrap this photo. As you can imaging I was thrilled. I emailed the photo over and 2 days later she showed me this!!!! OMGG for the 2nd time in this post, i was overwhelmed. This is a quilted patchwork all beautifully hand sewn. Isn't Lucy so talented.

I feel so blessed at the moment.

I have packed my layouts to send over to Australia, and am finishing of a project for two craft sites at the moment.

Also this layout of me and my hat was published in the deisgner gallery of The Scrapbook Magazine this month.
Last night I went for a run, only did 2 miles which i was a bit miffed at, but i am still out there. Only a few months before the actual race. Please if you have a few pennies spare think about sponsoring me, where all your money will go to the MS Society. My sponsor page is secure and you can find a link in the side bar.
Well I think thats all for now, unless something else amazing happens to me today!

Hugs all

So much to tell

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/25/2007 10:02:00 AM 13 lovely comments
Oh wow , what a weekend it has been. At last we announced our new DT over at Pencil Lines and I am so please with our new team, such talent. In fact so much talent applied that I will be inviting back some of the entrants to guest DT for us.

This weeks sketch went live and our guest designer this week is MALE!!!!! go check him out.

I loved this sketch which was done by one of our own girls ;) and chose some beautiful photos of Lilly and Peter sharing some love. Not Happy with the colour reproduction, but hey ho!

Supplies:

Creative Imaginations PP (god i love this stuff!!)
HS and Creative Imagination chipboard
Technique Tuesday stamp
Newspaper
HS bling and acrylic!
Various ribbons and buttons ( hey no LO of mine is complete without a button or two)

Also this week i was scrap lifted over at Mojo Holder. A weekly challenge blog to scrap lift a chosen layout by the team. Jakey is now a member of the design team and i so loved her grungy interpretation of my layout

Sunday was crop day, which I so enjoy. Us girls have been cropping for 18 months and we are definatly scrapping buddies now. We celebrated Ali's birthday with cake, cake and more cake, with the odd sausage roll thrown in. Honest we are so bad at this healthy eating lark, its just chocolate and more chocolate!

Received good post today in the guise of new stamps from Ebay. I bought some cooking stamps by KI Memories. I am so chuffed with them. I still have one of those BG lunch tins i bought ages ago and want to make a recipe file tin, and these stamps are going to be just the ticket!! I want my girls to be using my recipes when i am old and grey, cards covered in chocolate and butter with memories of baking with mummy in the kitchen, ooo i can smell the chocolate cupcakes now..................................

As well as good post, i received good emails today from my favourite Australian magazine. Scrapbook Memories have asked for 2 of my layouts for their gallery and I am so made up!!!!!Honestly this has made me giddy with excitement. And to top it all off, just had a phone call form Annie with some amazing news of a sponsor for Pencil Lines!!!!! OMG its is amazing, the most talked about company right now, and i have to keep my lips sealed!!!

Peter also has some great news, but that too has to be kept under wraps as well, he has a job interview next week, please keep your fingers and toes crossed and send lots of positive vibes our way please.

Lilly is much better and is at preschool today dosed with medicine and has a little spring in her step. I am expecting her to crash on the sofa when she gets home this afternoon!

Finally, Scrapping Angels Retreat '3 2008 is already over half booked, I am so thrilled that you all enjoyed yourself so much. If you want to book a place I am taking a £25 non refundable deposit to secure your place with further payments in October and March. Email me for details
The Christmas workshop to be held in November is also booking up fast, and we still have places on both the all day crop and the workshop.

I am off to finish some projects i started yesterday, hoping for an inspired today

Hope your weekend was a good one

Inspired

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/23/2007 04:40:00 PM 7 lovely comments
By all the Pencil Lines entries, they have all been amazing, and to be honest with you, I could NOT narrow it down to ONE, so we do have a few new members joining us. All will be revealed at Pencil lines from 9pm GMT tonight, I am so excited.
And talking of Pencil Lines, a great sketch will be uploaded tomorrow night for you and my sneaky peek is here. Inspired by the newspaper flower I saw on a LO by Jo Anne's, who I believe was inspired by Rebecca Sower!!!

I really love this layout I did, dedicated to some Lilly Love!!

Been pottering in the garden to be welcomed by the largest ants nest complete with eggs and Queen ants in one of my large plant pots, yuergh. Of course I called Peter and asked him to deal with it. This in turn put me off gardening and i came back in, lol. Went for a run today, the first in far too many days due to the bloomin awful weather and a poorly Lilly, who I am glad to report is on the mend.

Tomorrow is crop day for me and a little tea party for Ali who's birthday was last week. I must try for once be all organized with something to actually scrap!!

Good Luck to everyone who entered the DT call

One hundred and sixty six

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/21/2007 05:15:00 PM 6 lovely comments
entries for the Pencil Lines DT call has to be narrowed down to just ONE!!!!!

Honestly this is the hardest thing I have had to do. thank goodness i have a great team behind me to help shortlist 166 entries to a more manageable amount, but still an incredibly hard choice, and i have until tomorrow night to make my decision!!! The entries have been amazing

and jaw dropping, a huge thank you to all 166 of you that entered from all over the globe you are making this very hard for me!!!

Lilly is still of school and will not be swimming tonight due to her ear infection. I am shattered why Lilly isn't i have no idea. She has perked up for now, god bless calpol!!! what would us mums do without neurofen and calpol!!

I am really hoping to get scrapping tonight, so many things i want to do. the days are spent looking after Lilly and by 10pm she is in such a state i have been in bed with her, and my scrapping time has been non existent.

Also this viral arthritis or whatever it is has been causing me problems as well.
I am off to drool over the pencil line entries once again and try and narrow the search to ONE!!!

Picture is random as I am on Peters laptop. This is a picture Izzy did on paint titled "Monkey", isnt it good?!!!
Hope you have a great day

Girlie Day Out

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/20/2007 01:38:00 PM 9 lovely comments
Yesterday I headed of to Bury to meet up with Annie and Jennie for a girlie day of shopping, lunch and chat!

We did this very well , i might add. Started off at A Touch Of Craft, a gorgeous haven of crafty yumminess in Bury owned by Amanda. Where I picked up some Maya Road goodies, stamps, AC slick writers and i am sure a few more bits pop in my bag! Then it was off to the Stamp Box for some Stazon and chipboard tags. Headed back to Annie's for lunch, cous cous and roasted vegetables followed by English strawberries. I have never met Jennie , but I feel like we have know each other for ages, poor Jennie was probably shocked by how much i can talk!!!! We flicked through the latest copies of Scrapbook Trend and Simple Scrapbook, was totally inspired to scrap.

We rounded of the day with a photo shoot in the garden with tripod and timer for a group shot.
I headed of home thinking of what a wonderful day I had had, and one that must be repeated.

When i did arrive home it was unfortunately to a poorly Lilly. Headed off to the Dr's to find out she has an ear infection, poor thing. Last night was spent cradling my poor baby as she was in a lot of pain. And to cap it all off i seem to be plagued with that viral arthritis and went to bed early after the pins and needles got worse and my right arm felt like a lead balloon. I cannot get an appointment until next week with my doctor, and yes it will be fine by then, lol.

I am all fired up to scrap, i have so many projects running round my head that i want to do as well.

Back to playing Nurse Mummy for me and a flick through some magazines on the sofa i think. I also have the enormous job of looking through 166 entries x 3 for Pencil Lines!!!! I can tell you we are all absolutely amazed by all the stunning entries and bowled over by the amount of entries we received. I am hoping to have a winner by Friday night!!!
Wish me luck

Weekend Tears

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/18/2007 11:26:00 AM 21 lovely comments
Honest I really didn't expect them , but then when i look back at my week i have been pretty tearful. I really really missed dad, and the popping round to see him laden with treats and handmade cards! Although me and the girls made it up with all the drawings and cards the girls made for Peter. They even did him breakfast in bed, and i was not allowed to interfere....and that, trust me was hard!!! Apart from the tears and reflection for both peter and I we did have a lovely day. We spent the afternoon at the park and came home to Roast Chicken with all the trimmings. Unfortunately i never got round to making the crumble.

It was Pencil Lines night as well. I did a layout using a photo of me and Peter and the lyrics for my journalling from "When I'm 64"

Supplies :

Collage Press Seed Collection
Technique Tuesday Chipboard, crackle glazed and inked
Technique Tuesday Corner Stamp
Stamps Away Alpha stamps
Angel Kiss blooms and flower
Various buttons and ribbons

It was also the last call for the DT search, OMG we have had so many entries it has blown us all away. a decision will be made by Friday and you will need to check back over at the site for details.

I have some magazine work to do today and pack some Angel Kiss orders. And then tomorrow I am over to Bury to spend a girly day with Annie and Jennie, who I am so looking forward to meet as we haven't met in person yet!

Hope you all had a great weekend, and for those who no longer have their fathers i hop it was not too painful

big hugs

Barcelona, Babies and BBQ's

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/16/2007 10:48:00 PM 8 lovely comments
And its still raining.......so the BBQ was a bit wet and soggy, but highly entertaining. Once the thunder and high winds started we did decide to adjourn indoors and watch the cheese platter get sodden and the salad start swimming!!! But we did save the wine and strawberries. Whilst all this excitement was happening three mums and three babies were sound asleep inside.

Due to the poor weather and no tripod, i was only able to get a few decent, in focus shots!! I am sure another opportunity will arise for me though. The girls had great fun playing with Bronwyn who is 3 and looking at the babies who aged from 1 week old, 18 days and 3 months old, awwwww. So weird seeing our friends who i have know for 12 years, are now married with new families of their own, so touching and moving.

Peter and I have been together for 12 years, married for 8 years and have never had a holiday abroad. After making a phone call to Auntie Linda we went to the travel agents today and have booked 3 nights and 4 days in Barcelona for our wedding anniversary in August. I am so giddy with excitement. It was a toss up between Amsterdam and Barcelona, (thanks Jo-Anne for the contacts I am sure they will still get used!!!) and Barcelona won, due to the good deal we got on the Hotel.

So if anyone has been and knows of some great restaurants and sight seeing spots please let me know.

Tomorrow is Fathers Day, and Peter already has his present in the form of a Xbox 360 driving wheel and pedals!!! Boys will be boys wont they!!! I guess breakfast in bed will be on the cards for him tomorrow morning, along with a day of racing...... I am preparing a roast dinner and apple crumble for lunch, yummmmmmy.

Please do not forget you still have until tomorrow night to send Pencil Lines DT entries into us. I am so excited about this. The response has been overwhelming and will prove to be a very tough choice for me.

To all you dads out there, have a great day!

Hugs

Its raining men.......

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/14/2007 11:13:00 PM 9 lovely comments
oh if only. Nope its been raining cats and dogs, hefferlumps and anything else it could chuck it down with. Boy its been relentless today, along with a dash of thunder, and what have i had to be doing all day?, yep you got it, i have been in and out of the house all bloomin day!!!

And one of those things was Lilly's first induction afternoon at BIG school, (translates as, reception class), whilst us mums sat in the staff room drinking tea and coffee, without biscuits may i add!! It was then off to the library for a spot of Roald Dahl and Mr Seuss, yeah, and then home for a quick tea and swimming lessons. Whilst mum here grabbed an hours conference talk on the phone to her magazine editor!!!!!, then whilst serving up a delectable meal of chicken pop corn and chips, caught up on the days shenanigans at the Deacon household!!! (sending big hugs to you Em), with that common pose of us mums, with the crooked neck, holding phone in between double chin and neck, whilst using free hands to do a spot of ironing and serving up tea, phew, are you exhausted just reading that? Oh and before all that i packed and posted the balance of this months kits....... feeling very pleased with myself *inserts cheesy grin*
A busy Mum day does mean i have not created, its gone 11pm and i am shifting papers around for this weeks Pencil Lines sketch, umming and arring..... do i do this?, use that paper here?, maybe try this embellie?, you get the picture...

It only leaves me to wish you all a good day, night or morning whilst I decide whether to go to bed or scrap???????????

Hugs

Anna xx

and if you are wondering whats with the glitzy photo anna?? Anita took this at the retreat, that aluminum wrapping paper was a hit with us ladies, reckon i could do QVC Gems Night???

Perfectly Posh

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/13/2007 08:55:00 PM 6 lovely comments
no I am not talking about me, but this months kit from Scrapping Angels. Kits are packed, dispatched and I have done 3 layouts so far. Don't you just love some Tinkering Inks?!

The mini book which is the first of our Beyond the Page kits is available to buy, although I am still working on mine. I will have images to post by the weekend, honest.

May I just say how amazed I am by all you amazing people out there. Yesterdays post struck a chord with many of you and has also put me back in touch with colleuges I haven't spoken to in an age due to magazines folding. I also had the most amazing message from a women whose ex-husband has MS. She has a young son from this marriage and her husband has been in a home for 6 years. She and their son visit him regularly even though is condition worsens. This women after reading the poem has printed it and put it away in a box with memories of his dad to show him at a later date. This poem will help him understand more.

I can tell you i was in tears after reading her email to me. One very courageous and amazing women.

Today has been very productive on the home front. I have spent all morning doing housework then spent this afternoon watching Charlie and the Chocolate factory whilst eating brown butter sarnies!!!
Brown butter sarnies???? you ask, yep this is what my Lilly calls peanut butter sandwiches. After asking for these and me presenting her with brown bread and butter (silly mummy!) she pointed to the peanut butter jar and hey presto i understood.

Lesson learned - Never underestimate your 4 year old!

Before I go you must check out Pencil Lines as we have an extra treat for you this week

That's me all wrapped up for tonight, I am back to my scrapping desk to hunt for my mojo!

Please spare a thought......

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/12/2007 10:02:00 PM 14 lovely comments
Today I had planned to blog with lots of projects i have been doing, but these will now have to wait. Instead today has been an emotional day for me, I ran my first 5K, and for once in my life i was proud of me, i shed a tear as i thought of dad , but i did it, and my confidence has rocket that I CAN and I WILL achieve the race in September.

I would also like to remind you of why i am running in September, and to take a moment to look at my blog header. I am running in memory of my Dad and raising money for the MS Society. Already I have raised over £1000 through various fund raising events, the most successful being the Charity auction held at the Scrapping Angels retreat in April. But every penny helps, and so I am asking you all if you can spare a penny to sponsor me, or just to donate to my Just Giving Page. You can also send a chq just email me for details.

Now onto why i had to write this post;

I received this poem in an email today from a very close friend, at first i felt offended and upset as I lost my father in September to MS, but once i read abit more I knew the reason she sent this to me, my dad was this person....
My dad was the young man in a crippled body, but he was still a person..................Take a few minutes to read this poem, beware i cried!!

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a small hospital near Tampa , Florida , it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, they found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital. One nurse took her copy to Missouri The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the News Magazine of the St.Louis Association for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem. And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this "anonymous" poem winging across the Internet.

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? .......What do you see?
What are you thinking......when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man, ...not very wise,
Uncertain of habit ........with faraway eyes?
Who dribbles his food.......and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice....."I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice ...the things that you do.
And forever is losing .............. A sock or shoe?
Who, resisting or not...........lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding ....... The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse......you're not looking at me.
I'll tell you who I am ....... As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, ......as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten......with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .......who love one another
A young boy of Sixteen ...........with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now. ..........a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty .........my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows........that I promised to keep.
At Twenty-Five, now .......... I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide ....... And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty ........ My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other ......... With ties that should last.
At Forty, my young sons ........have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me........to see ! I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, .......... Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children ......... My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me .......... My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ............I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing ........young of their own.
And I think of the years...... And the love that I've known.
I'm now an old man.........and nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age .......look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles..........grace and vigor, depart.
There is now a stone........where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass ...... A young guy still dwells,
And now and again ........my battered heart swells.
I remember the joys.............. I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living.............life over again.
And accept the stark fact........that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people ..........open and see..
Not a crabby old man. Look closer....see........ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within.....we will all, one day, be there, too!

PLEASE SHARE THIS POEM

The best and most beautiful things of this world can't be seen or touched. They must be felt by the heart.
God Bless.

Weekend Celebrations

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/11/2007 10:26:00 AM 18 lovely comments
What a glorious weekend it has been , the sun has been shining, my girls have been busy,we have had lots of family time after peters busy week, and to cap it all of, Junkitz sponsored Pencil Lines this week with their celebration line!!!!

I so love these Junkitz papers, really vibrant and fun. The bling circles and squares are right up my street and lots of funky chipboard to play with. Do pop over and take a look as we are giving away a Junkitz RAK every week in June to one lucky scrapper. I have a box of goodies all waiting for good homes.

I scrapped my first birthday pictures. These photos are of Lilly on her 3rd birthday. we had a Cinderella party. Lilly was all dressed up in her Cinderella dress, we had a tea party and then watched Cinderella on DVD, which happens to be the first film i ever saw at the cinema. My Dad took me and I watched it 3 times!!!!!

The weather was so lovely Saturday that we decided to have an impromptu BBQ, in fact it was so impromptu that we don't own a BBQ!!! i headed up to the village to purchase a disposable on to cook our homemade burgers and sausages on, washed down with some San Miguel.

Headed out for a run this morning with my new heart rate monitor watch that peter bought me, tried out a new route as well. I have started the week with all the right intentions....... Now I am off to get creative and pack Junes kits

What did you do this weekend?

I'm in Heaven.....

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/08/2007 10:37:00 PM 12 lovely comments
My Nikon 50mm lens arrived this morning!!!!!!

I was so excited that I put my lens on incorrectly and then wondered why it didn't work, oops. But she is on now and working a treat, shame i had no models to play with, instead me, the grass and the foxgloves became my models for the day!!!
When it came to bedtime the girls decided to let me play with my new lens. Straight out of the bath and this is what i am greeted with!!! Not quite the sweet photo i was planning on. Had a play with some common shots, the "feet" shot just to test my DOF, and I love it!!!
I was very good and before I got my new baby out of its box i completed a project for A Trip Down Memory Lane that I have been working on. Just a sneak peek here until Mel and Jill publish it.

I think I am in love with black and white at the moment as well. love the vintagy and timeless feel to my photos when I convert to black and white.

This weekend promises to be a weekend of creativity, or so I hope. lots of projects i want to get my teeth into
as well as DT magazine work. Izzy is away tomorrow to Ripton Abbey with her Rainbow group and Lilly and I will wave her off and head to the supermarket and let peter sleep in. He has been working day and night shifts all week, bless him, and is utterly exhausted. Expect him back at around 6am this morning, hence why Lilly and i will stay away from the house for as long as possible.

What do you have planned for the weekend? Hope its a good one

I am so pleased i decided to randomly pick a name as this was too hard to choose. So many beautiful layouts dedicated to friendships and female members of our families. The journal ling has been pulling at my heart strings too. Thank you to everyone who joined me in my Lets Celebrate Women month. I still have many more layouts in the making and my album is ready to be filled and dedicate to the women in my life.

Here are a few of my favourite layouts.

And the lucky winner is

LYZZY

I am blown away by the comments you have left me from my Wedding Bliss post and i cannot thank you all for such lovely comments you have left me. Weddings are such a joy to be a part of and capture, as their are so many happy memories being made.I still have lots of photos to tweak before i send the CD of to Mr and Mrs!!!

I am working on some projects at the moment for magazines and DT's as well as completing a mini book for a UK website I am very fond of. I have a pile of layouts I want to do for several different challenge blogs as well. So much to do and so little time, lol.

By the way, talking of challenge blogs have you checked out the new sister site for Pencil Lines?? A group of artists have come together to bring you Altered Pencil Lines. They use the original sketches and turn them into works of art, really stunning work to be seen.

Well I am back to the scrapping board and some photo editing

Wedding Bliss

OOO i do so love a wedding, I am always sitting in the pews with a tissue at my eyes mopping up tears!!!
This wedding was no exception. I was lucky to capture some lovely moments that sum up the day perfectly. Here are a few of the photos i took.

I so enjoyed being the "unofficial" photographer for the day, and actually ended up with 2 bookings from my efforts!!! Both are family and will be great practise for me. I realise i absolutley adore taking photos of children the most.
I am about to purchase my first lens for my Nikon, and cannot wait to play with it. Have decided to go for a 50mm fixed lens for portrait photography.

I love the old film look of this photo, i cranked up the ISO to get the "grainy" look to this photo. Isnt she just adorable?

Back to today. Izzy was supposed to be on a school trip. I packed her off with appropriate clothing for pond dipping, packed lunch and waterproofs, to get a phone call from peter telling em i had got the wrong day!! oops. Now I know i am slightly scatty when it comes to my organisation skills, but to be fair the letter was dated the 5/06 and apparently another letter was sent when Izzy was off sick with a new date for next week.
Tomorrow its Lilly's first school trip and we are both off to a farm for the day with pack lunch and waterproofs! and of course my camera.

If you don't already know, Pencil Lines are looking for another DT member, pop over to the site for all details

Have a good day
hugs

PS: if anyone can photoshop the hand in the first photo please let me know!!!
