Scrapping Angels Retreat

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/15/2010 03:33:00 PM 4 lovely comments
It was a truly wonderful weekend, and one I will not forget in a long time. It was my last retreat for the immediate future. I need a year off, my girls are growing up and are going through changes, and I need to be around more.
Emotions were running high, as we remembered Catherine Swift, who sadly passed away last month from Cancer. The ladies helped raise over £300 for The MS Soceity and the Hospice that Catherine wished to have all donations go to. Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets and donate to these worthy causes.

Thank you to our wonderful teachers this weekend, MJM, Tracie Hudson, and Sandie Vincent, and to Sue Deacon my right hand woman, whom without I could not get through these weekends, LOL

I will leave you with this photo, of gorgeous flowers that Sue gave to me at the end of the weekend. Thank you Sara for taking the photo.
Plenty more photos to come, just need to download them.

Thanks for stopping by

Whilst browsing one day, I came across this gorgeous site, "Ruffles and Stuff" and this cute ruffle skirt.

picture taken from ruffles and stuff

Well it didnt take me long before i was ordering some gorgeous jersey fabric from this store, "Dots N Stripes".
Pretty fabrics have landed and I cannot wait to get downsizing the ruffle skirt for the girls, complete with t shirts and bandana's, what do you reckon? cute eh! I have gone for a floral jersey in pinks, red and yellow, with solid colour contrasts.

First day back for the girls and I. I think we managed to get through the day, LOL.
I cannot believe that I left work on the 15th December due to illness and I returned back today head pounding and throat aching! But I am not going to let this beat me, and back to work I went.

Finished up some deadlines this afternoon, all sketch related. I am really looking forward to seeing my first sketch for Scrapbooking Memories Aus in print and the DT interpretations, it is so exciting! I am also doing some sketches for the UK magazine The Scrapbook Magazine, as well as DT gallery work this year.

Still waiting for my proof copy of Pencil Lines the Book, and until I receive that and approve it, my stock copies will not arrive, will keep you all posted, it really wont be long now....!!

I have also been working on the behind the scenes stuff for Scrapping Angels 5th retreat, held at Wyboston Lakes off the A1 Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire. The date is April 24th-25th and this years teachers have been confirmed as;

Anna Bowkis (me!)
Tracie Hudson
Sandie Vincent
Michele Mogford (MJM)

I always keep the retreats small and intimate, and there are a couple of places left, if you do fancy a weekend of scrapping bliss with like minded ladies, good food and fantastic company, and not forgetting the spectacular shopping, by 3JollyScrappers, then I suggest you pop over here for further details and price options.

Photo for today is what my book looks like, a dongle and a mountain of paperwork! And any day now my copy will pop through my letter box, looking like a proper book! And I am sure that sight will be my photo of the day very soon!

So whats the weather doing where you are? We have had some light snow showers, and i have heard that we are expecting much heavier snow tonight, fingers crossed, hehehe

Keep warm and thanks as always for stopping by.

Weekend round up

blogged by me domestic goddess On 6/30/2009 11:02:00 AM 2 lovely comments
This weeks Pencil Lines is a real treat, with guest deisgner Christiane Muller returning. I am a huge fan of Christiane and it was such a treat to have her return as this weeks guest artist. this weeks sketch was by me.

I delved into my sacred collection of my dear friend Lucy Folch's designs for ScrapDiary, for this weeks layout, and added a few Fancy Pants diecuts.
Sunday was crop day and I taught a class using the cute Twitterpated by Imaginesce.

This week I will be adding all leftover crop kits and papers to the Scrapping Angels website, so do keep an eye out. I have also taken off all Angel Kisses and have made up huge grab bags with over 500 blooms for only £5.00. An absolute bargain, so do grab one while they last. Once they are gone, they are gone!!
Also Scrapping Angels retreat 5 is live and ready to take your bookings!! 2010 retreat will be held on April 24th - 25th

Hasn't the weather just been manic hot these last few days. I know we just cant stop complaining us Brits! Its either, too wet, too cold, too windy or too hot!
The girls are loving it, and I got out the sprinkling for them to play in after school yesterday. Hours of fun with a sprinkler....

I have been suffering from chronic back pain since Sunday night, and my mini book class has been delayed. Check back tomorrow, and I will have it all uploaded!!
Before I go, have you ordered your Graze box?? Check this post for a free box.
I finished reading "Breaking Dawn" Sunday night. I was really disappointed with the ending. I won't say anymore in case you haven't read it, but after 4 books and hours of reading it did just seem to end!

Anyways, I am now reading "Broken for You" by Stephanie Kallos. A complete change from Vampires and Werewolves, LOL
See you tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by..

Its a busy post today and image heavy!!!

The weekend was a success and lots of happy ladies left on Sunday armed with goodies from 3 Jolly Scrappers, and loaded with inspiration and projects.

Although its a truly exhausting weekend for everyone involved, Sue and I always end up raring to go for another year! So Scrappng Angels 2010 retreat will be announced next month. Here are a few photos, there are plenty more on the Scrapping Angels blog.

Thank you to all the Angels who helped raise over £350 for The MS Society, I am truly thankful.

This weekend is NSD, and we at Bad Girls want you to come and play with us, and join in 12 hours of free classes and challenges on the hour, every hour from 9am - 9pm PST. Isn't that just to good to refuse?!

just because I really cannot think of one!

I had the great pleasure of teaching at ATDML on Sunday. Always alot of fun, and I always manage to spend far to much money at the shop! Thank you to everyone who took my classes, lovely to meet new and familiar faces.
I taught a layout class sponsored by Cosmo Cricket using the Happily Ever After line of papers. So pretty and vintage, just adore this line.

(I do have a few kits left if anyone is interested in purchasing. £7.50 incl p&p to the UK.)

My second class was an interactive mini book. I used My Minds Eye Bloom and Grow papers and die cuts.

Pencil Lines sketch 129 went live last night. the sketch was very simple 81/2" x 11" by me. I used the left overs in the class kit from ATDML to make this simple layout of Peter and I on our wedding day, aaahhhh.

Easter holidays are now upon us, and the sun is shining. Washing is on the line, and I have been spring cleaning!
This morning the girls and I ran a few errands, little things that needed doing, and I feel much better for getting them done.
Retreat plans are well under way, with only a few weeks left!!!! Ladies class details will be going out tonight!!!
We have great classes planned, Cosmo Cricket, Sassafrass Lass, Cloud 9, Pink Paislee are just a few of the names cropping up in your classes.
I am really pleased that 3 Jolly Scrappers will be bringing their shop to us for the weekend.
More details will be going up later tonight on the blog.
I am off to play with some new Sassafrass Lass, My Little Shoe Box and some ZING!!!!! blame those naughty ladies at ATDML

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

Apologises

Don't you just hate bloggers like me!
I have a good excuse though. I have been suffering with extreme pain in my hands and knees, which is getting worse by tea time and then putting me to bed by 7pm!!! Yesterday I went to the doc's and I have a viral arthritis!!!Just what every scrapper needs, eh!!!. Monday off for blood tests to see if it is a long term problem and how to treat it. At the moment I am on the usual painkillers and anti inflammatory.
I spent yesterday trying to get as much on the website before my hands caved in, the mini angel kisses are up and hopefully by the end of the weekend the daisies and the hydrangea will be too.
I have done a couple of classes for a forum cyber crop this weekend, on the clean and simple approach of Cathy Z, looking forward to seeing the girls interpretations.

I am in the middle of doing my first altered clipboard inspired by Trisha, thanks Hun, so love your work. Hoping to get it finished and uploaded to my blog this weekend
Good news I have found my mobile phone, and my new computer has been delivered but we cannot find the internet discs!!
Also, 6 weeks later my Junkitz order has arrived so I can get the kits packed this weekend.

Kirsty is coming to stay with us on Tuesday prior to her jetsetting to LA to teach from Thursday with Emily Falconbridge.

OH before I forget change the date in your diaries from the 7/10 to the 23 and 24 September. Em is in Paris teaching so we have had to change dates. Will keep you updated once we have confirmed a venue.

So that's it blogettes, have a lovely weekend. We are off to see grandad and put a bet on the Grand National for him

Shoot me down in flames

blogged by me domestic goddess On 2/02/2006 12:21:00 PM 1 lovely comments

Ok I know I have been negleting my blogger duties for the past few days, whatcha gonna do about it?, not come by and read me I guess *cry*. To be honest I have had very little to say; my week so far in a nutshell :

hair cuts on Tuesday
baths on Wednesday
no internet access Tuesday or Wednesday ggrrr
deadlines to complete
orders packed Thursday

so all in all a pretty boring week so far! So come on then spill the beans what have you blogettes been up too, it sure has got to be a hell of a lot more exciting than my week!
Lilly has playgroup soon, then I am coming home to make cards for a couple of friends birthdays (they know who they are;) ), then off to pick the girls up and then a flying visit to Dad.
I am on some new tablets to try and sort out my sleep pattern and stuff. All it has done is have me zombied until at least 11.30am every morning, so tonight I am going to take them much earlier so I am not useless until midday tomorrow!
These 2 piccies are a layout and a canvas I did with the Scrapping Angels kit from the sunday crop
